Some jumped the gun worrying about the tracklist ,glad I was open to it cuz album is dope ,my favorite rapper still holding it down after all these years

“Black lives matter, I’m forreal it do matterThink the production is on point throughout, am happy with it. King's Disease his flow is on point at the start but later on it sounds a bit forced, I know Nas is known for often purposely having an off beat flow but the latter parts of that song throw me off a bit. I wish how he did the first part, sounded more fluid to me.
Car #85 is really dope, that shyt could be a single, shyt is on point throughout overall. Nice easy listening vibe.
Ultra Black just some ill shyt, love that joint. Like everything about that joint.
Nas can still rap and deliver at a high level, 7 Summers is an interlude pretty much but I like it, like the vibe.
Not mad at the hook for Replace Me at all, nice flow from Nas. It's not what some hardcore Nas fans might like but I'm cool with it. Big Sean's verse I didn't think was that dope, flow isn't that good to me, lyrics aren't either, though he picks it up a bit at the end, probably going for a laid back vibe, but rapping next to Nas you can hear a big difference.
But the different styles can sometimes work and sometimes don't, he sounds very good with Lil Durk on Till The War Is Won to me, Nas kills it, some potent lyrics too, Lil Durk sounds good but his "all lives matter, what about black on black crime" like content throws me off, I get he's from Chi, but the way it's said throws me off, feels a bit like people who deflect from the issues. Nas' lyrics feel much more introspective and natural, it doesn't feel like deflection at all, just feels like he's talking from the heart. Durk's shyt just throws me off a bit.
All Bad is some good shyt, good commercial song.
Nas raps really well on The Definition, bodies it, beat fits nicely too.
Probably on around 3rd full listen, it's a good album in my opinion, sounding like maybe 4 mics. Am always happy to hear new Nas.

Replace me is weak??? How sway??? That beat is firejust finished listening to this album
wow!!!
album is 4.5 out of 5.
some songs were too short
my favorite songs from the album are 27 summers, ultra black, 10 points, full circle, blue benz, the definition, car #85 and the cure.
till the war is won is nice.
the firm back!nice reunion track
nas even has brucie b on here
the weakest songs were replace me and spicy. that's only 2 songs out of 13 songs.
“Black lives matter, I’m forreal it do matter
Black on black crime they still do it to whoever
I’m talking to the trenches we just gotta do better”
fukk you talking bout bruh? What you don’t understand about that
How is replace me a downer?? Cause it has elle mae sounding hook..that beat is crazyPop Smoke would have fit perfectly on this album, which is weird for me to say considering we’re talking about Nas
“Replace Me” is my only downer here. Everything else fits perfectly and is well put together. Very happy with this.
Replace me is weak??? How sway??? That beat is fire
Your literally just talking to talk, your lost af.. anyways"Why you cry about low income and welfare"
Is another line in the song, and he may be talking to himself possibly rather than to everyone as a whole, but mixed in with the black on black crime line it throws me off, the whole narrative of so called black on black crime is questionable, people kill people in their own communities, white people commit crime against eachother all the time but nobody calls it white on white crime, but anytime something happens with a black person it's labeled as black on black crime to paint a narrative. Not to say there are no issues whatsoever, but mentioning black on black crime as a response when speaking about black lives matter always feels like a deflection, because black lives matter is talking about the police brutalizing and murdering black people and also how the systems and institutions are racist, so then to say what about black on black crime in a direct response to that when it's unrelated could be seen as deflection. As I said it's a few things in the verse to me not just 1 line, about people "just doing better", in many of these cases there's NOTHING no-one could do better because they are being targeted by evil racist police and a corrupt system, yes people that are involved in violent crime etc can do better but HE is making it related to black lives matter instead of a separate point. Anyway, will leave it there, was just something found a bit off putting, but can get back to discussing the album as a whole.
