I am always confused as to why listeners aren't open to creatives being themselves. Of course we would love Nas just rapping about gritty street shyt on Premier beats, but does he? He is with venture capitalists all day, with ex-wife troubles, dealing with his fame and all the negative shyt that comes with it. His journey is different. I am happy he continues to be unbounded by his creativity as we get to hear where Nas is at, and what message he wants to tell and what music he wants to present that with. His message here is more about the trials and tribulations of success, and passing that message down to others - so makes perfect sense for a prime producer, newer acts and a more updated production to form the soundbed for that message. I hope listeners are open-minded to Nas as a creator, the creatives which just give you want, aren't interesting to me. The ones who make me think, oh ok, this is where you at, this is their art... this is what I am interested in. Good to see Nas is still there...
