I love the album. But I love Nas getting his sole shine and praise like he should on release day. He literally chills and minds his business and yet Nikki, Kelis, and Jay tried to play him to left like he wasn’t always that Man and downplay his legacy. It felt even better that Jay got no shine yesterday. Hot interview was good although I didn’t want to give Ebro a click. I’m glad he continues to pay The Breakfast Club dust with no interviews. They don’t deserve him at this point. Cheers to a great release King. I even opened a fresh bottle of Pure White to celebrate just as do anytime I head to a Nas live show.

What did Nicki do to Nas? She’s never disrespected him

Kelis always been crazy. Unfortunately Nas walked in to THAT one. But she’ll never truly be able to hurt him because Nas moves with integrity and literally NOBODY took her side when she sprouted that bullshyt.

the Jay-Z shyt is overblown. That song yesterday isn’t even Jay’s song its Pharrell FEATURING Jay-Z. And considering Pharrell is a huge Bas fan, there’s no way he’d try to steal shine from Nas.

I think Nikki is crazy ah. And to me the energy around her is always dark. When they were doing whatever they were doing I felt like she was putting him out there. Or trying to do the whole publicity thing to give herself cool points as doing the unattainable, which is bag Nas. Every chick knows he’s damn near the top of the chain. I’m glad he deaded that quick. Nas has never been a blog or relationship guy. She was stain. I’m glad to see the release was good and the music is being appreciated in an organic way.

The production on this reminds me of the games album born 2 rap. Nas sounds immaculate as always and makes the album more listenable for sure it's also better than jay's attempt at relevancy with MCHG what feels like decades ago
There wasn’t a single good song on MCHG. Not one. Jay’s worst album by far.

And dont forget the songs on Lost Tapes 1 were meant to be either on an album (I am) or were recorded during one of his best sessions ever (Stillmatic, and were actually on the) OG Stillmatic in some countries

Lost Tapes 2 on the other hand, was like you said off multiple albums over a longer stretch and also most did not like out on the mixtape scene so he was really putting stuff that was on the fence/incomplete and even went back and added verses. This is probably why it felt disjointed for some though I gotta say I liked how it turned out
I loved LT2. 4.5 mics. but it’s definitely a compilation of songs as opposed to an album.

This album truly is incredible. Sonically it’s the best Nas album since Stillmatic? Personally I would say Untitled but I don’t think many might agree with that . As much as I liked Life is Good which is for me a near classic and this trumps It because there generally isn’t a bad or skippable song, and he made near 50 year old rappers sound youthful and modern.

Lyrically it’s probably not top 7 Nas albums, but generally as a overall sound, the features production, hooks, concepts it’s up there with IWW and Lost Tapes, on early listening.

To release an album like this 26 summers after your debut is truly crazy, and it adds to his legacy, the measure of a great album is when you can’t name the best track, and this is that here, album of the year easily.

Oceans and Fukkwithmeyouknowigotit were both dope to me. :manny:

I fukked with 'Picasso Baby' on the strength of the Adrian Younge sample. The video felt like some shyt that Kanye at the time would have killed. For Jay it just kinda felt :ld:

Sidenote: I dunno if he was wary of getting washed by Rae and Ghost, but 'Heaven' could have been great with all three of them.

I can relate to this sentiment. Nas did an excellent job crafting an amazing album with a lone, modern day producer. But there will always ALWAYS be a component of his fan base that will want to hear him on boom bap beats.

That’s how it goes when you have a career that spans three decades I guess.
Primo is still razor sharp. That last Gangstarr album proved that. I’d love to hear Nas over Primo, RZA, Pete Rock and most of all Havoc. But at the same time I’d love to hear him over the “modern” boom bap from ALC, Roc Marc, Daringer/Beat Butcha and Pete Rock. Drumless or not. And for those who say Nas would sound wack on a drumless beat, how you explain this shyt

But on the other hand Nas went and made an amazing album with Hit Boy of all people. So just let Nas do Nas I guess.

forgot about Madlib

gotta say this sounds 10x better than "Nasir" and "Nas Lost 2" which anyone with half a brain knows were :trash:

"You got pressed in the hood, fix your jibs up" -- from the intro. Some are saying on twitter this line is a shot at Joe Budden for his podcast continually downplaying NAS and slobbing Jay.

What you think?

It would crazy if The Firm dropped an EP, that, everyone sounding :stylin:
Fox was a bit :flabbynsick: still better than her new daughters though, but Mega and Az plus that beat :wow:. It might not even be fun cause the half amazing breh might be too far ahead today
