If Nas is giving this type of dudes interviews, but not breakfast club, then there's definitely beef.
But I'm clueless as to what the beef could be

Dj envy pretends they're close

I don't even care about BC. I just want Nas to give charlamange 2hrs

Charlemagne has a history of trolling. He says Nas is his favorite rapper so it’d be different if Nas granted him an interview but Nas traditionally doesn’t deal with clowns or shock jocks

Spicy seems like it’s gonna be the next single. He pushin that.
Win/win for Nas if that's the case. Song doesn't fit anywhere on the album at all but probably attracts a wider audience than anything else on the album.

Edit: Meant it's a win/win that he included it as a bonus, so it didn't have to fit the cohesive frame of the album but he still benefits from it.
Top of the charts on Apple Music and Amazon.
Amazon Best Sellers: Best Albums

Its looking good for that #1 spot, we'll see the streaming numbers.
Lol at that Killers album going from #1 to #27 in a day. Nas is riding momentum that he hasn't seen in a long time. Glad to see him get this kind of shine damn near 30 years later :blessed:

Queens Wolf is fire...but sounds unfinished, which is probably why he vaulted it. Beautiful Life is dope. Lost Freestyle is cool...but unfinished. It never ends is cool. Highly favored is okay. QB politics is fire...but unfinished. I'm not saying its absolute trash, its just light. A lot of unfinished shyt, some sloppy lazy rhyming, okay production at best, etc... IMO its like a 3.5, maybe...nothing about it makes me want to listen to it again

27 summers feels unfinished. Queens wolf doesn’t. Lost Freestyle longer than 90 percent of songs on Kings Disease. Lyrically LT2 is superior. LT2 is a great project and I can see how it’s more favored by some Nas fans.

Am i the only one who liked Nasir?!
Not the only one...but one of the only ones. :heh:

Honestly it sounds like whoever recorded/engineered that album literally took Nas' vocals in certain spots and slid them. Sometimes sliding vocals can be a good tool in the tool box. But his flow just sounded off to me in places, and it's weird because Nas' flow never sounds off. It's always so consistent.

I don't dislike Nasir but overall it was just a massive letdown to most people. Nas hadn't dropped anything in forever, and it was hyped as this big thing. Kanye had just killed it on Daytona a few weeks earlier, and I think we were all expecting something on par with that. The result wasn't bad, but it was just so middle-of-the-road that it was frustrating. Neither guy seemed like they brought their A-game. Kanye's production too sounded to me like he was just trying to do knockoff Madlib beats in places, and the sounds just didn't mesh for whatever reason.

There wasn’t a single good song on MCHG. Not one. Jay’s worst album by far.
Definitely his worst album. Some people say it's better than Kingdom Come but I don't see how. The Prelude (intro track) on KC is better than any joint on MCHG. And at least on KC you got the creative Superfreak chop that Just Blaze did on MySpace. The other Just Blaze joints were decent. I thought Trouble and Lost One were okay for the Dr. Dre beats. Minority Report wasn't bad. The Kanye produced joint was average but not terrible.

At the very least, you can listen to the 1st four or five songs on Kingdom Come before it falls off a cliff. MCHG is terrible throughout.

"you can't replace me like a battery"

:comeon:
:mjlol:That's right up there with Lil Fame's "gradually lift that ass up like gravity" bar in terms of stupidity.

edit: :ohhh: Unless he's saying "You can't replace me like how you'd replace a battery" instead of "You can't replace me like a battery, because bettries aren't replaceable."

:jbhmm: I'm thinking the former is what he probably meant.

a decent portion of coli nas stans are extremely out of touch and will shyt on these modern acts no matter what. durk's verse was dope and authentic.

the love nas is getting for this album is nuts. this is the first time since life is good that i've seen major outside praise for a nas project. makes sense because sonically this is a top 5 nas album. i live in queens and nikkas were playing this all over the park, cars and all. whereas nobody gave a fukk about lost tapes 2 or nasir for the most part. nas will do 70k+ first week with this and its well deserved. album of the year :wow:

The overreaction here to this just lets you know how bad people are at judging new music. Car 85 and Full Circle are the only good tracks here. He should have kept those and did the rest without hit boy. Life is Good was far better. This will be out of rotation a week from now

Yep. For me its as simple as the prelude. That’s prime Jay. Classic Jay. That Jay didn’t show up on MCHG.

I thought it was pretty obvious Nas meant you can't replace him like you can replace a battery.

Honestly i’m doubting Premo could have done a better job than Hit Boy at this juncture.

Premo has a signature sound, and its a very DOPE sound. But Hit Boy went ALL out for this album. No song sonically sounds the same, there are so many layers to the production that it honestly doesn’t FEEL like one producer did this.

Producers like Hit Boy, early RZA, No ID, Salaam Remi, Pre-“crazy” Kanye, and Timbaland could make whole albums that sound cohesive but still had a variety of different sounds. I feel like not only did Nas make the right choice by going with Hit Boy, he made an INSPIRED choice.

You gotta give it up to Nas for having the foresight to seek out Hit Boy and Hit Boy for MORE than rising to the occasion. This is a beautiful set up for Nas’s future as an artist with Mass Appeal. I hope Nas continues to be bold and inspired in his musical endeavors for years to come. I’m glad he never bowed to any public pressure and forced out any old album with AZ or Premo just to appease backpackers who couldn’t let go of 1994. Doing it HIS way got us a fukking incredible Firm Reunion in 2020 that sounds like they never dismantled. It got us features and collabs that we never even considered could be dope. It got us modern production paired with a flow that sounds like it was steeped in the fountain of youth.

No one could have done this album better than Hit Boy and Nasir in 2020. NO ONE
A Primo and Nas album would've been dope 15 years ago, but it's not an album I think any true hip-hop head wants to hear at this point, for the reasons you stated. Maybe some super old heads that don't check for new music might want it, and I don't think any of us would turn it down, but I'm about to drop a Primo take that might be offensive.

And for the record, Primo is my favorite producer of all time. I know people think Alchemist or Madlib is, but I'll take Primo's beats from '96-'02 over any producer, ever. The reality is that Primo hasn't produced a really dope full album for anyone besides Guru since Group Home's 1st album. :hubie:Blaqprint, Kolexxxion, Get Used to Us...these albums were of significantly less quality than Primo's other work. I'll always trust him to do fantastic Gang Starr projects, but outside of Guru? :patrice: I'd rather him not do the whole thing.

Out of all the old Illmatic era producers, Pete Rock is the one making the best full length projects right now. I still want Nas over more varied production like you do, but if Nas was insisting on doing a full project with an Illmatic producer in 2020, I'd want it to be with Pete. Not even close.

Car #85 just hits differently to me for some reason. It just takes me somewhere. Difficult to explain but it's appreciated. Very emotional track for me.
Breh it takes me back too...its one of those joints that evokes so many good memories. Especially if you're from the NYC area.

Nas is second to none with capturing what NYC was like in the 80s...its like 2nd Childhood type vibe for me personally. He speaks about shyt he's seen and knows and does it so effortlessly and so effective.

I was talkin to Tia
I went to her block, I was just happy to see her
And Low was how she did me
She moved from Queens to Co-Op city
She said visit me
Thats if you really miss me (I did)
Show proof
10 nikkas outside her building, that's what I go through...

That shyt hit so real :wow:
