Nas wasn’t surprised by the AZ suggestion he was surprised by the Mega and Foxy suggestion. He already knew AZ was in album mode because he’a been working on Doe or Die 2. He HINTED that he might be on that project

I think he was expecting Hit-Boy to make such a suggestion. Hit-Boy was behind linking up with the old and the new.

I'm just stating facts....for it to do that numbers without mainstream traction is a very hard feat in itself...on top of that you add fickLe hip hop fans on the message board and blogs that always complains about mumble rappers but never go out and support their fave rappers....I've seen this movie too many times pleighboi :francis:

Killers white boy band is number 1 currently on iTunes album...you know why white people go out of their to support their own no matter how washed up they are:mjlol:

But hip hop fans that claimes to be purists on the other hand :hhh:

Bet you not everyone that commented on this thread has actually purchased the album :troll:

The album is dope probably a classic later down the line but it is what it is:yeshrug:

Nas is number 1 on itunes fam. He overtook The Crackers this morning:ufdup:

He’s number 1 AND number 3 (Clean) on Amazon Music

Number 1 on Apple Music (streaming)

He’s getting GREAT buzz and support. The last time he got this much groundswell acclaim was during Life Is Good.

Nasir sold 77K first week with a BOTCHED release, no single, no video, and Full blown MAGA Kanye doing his best to sabotage his own shyt.

We GETTING that 100K first week. I have spoken and so too shall it be.

I’m even willing to take a 2 week ban bet.

@FreshAIG or any other Mod can serve as witness.

let's be realistic it's not gonna happen I'll be impressed if this even moves 60k first week tbh...
NASIR did 77k and it was released late on a saturday.
This is getting way more positive feedbacks too. 100k is not that unrealistic, not sure if it will happen but there's a shot.

Nasir is NOT a bad album.

I’m telling you right now its going to be one of those albums that in 4-5 years blogs and sires will revisit and give it better standing. Almost like It Was Written.

It's going to be Nas "Hear My Dear" Album, When Marvin dropped Hear My Dear fans and critic's shytted on it, til year's later they finally caught up to it and now it's considered one of his best work's

Do you remember when the first week projection for LIG was only 50k and it ended up doing 150k and landed number 1 on billboard?

Probably the first nas album I’ve listened too since stillmatic (which I really liked).

I like this album, tho I think the more contemporary songs caught and held my attention more than the older sounding joints, aside from full circle and blue Benz.

Favorite tracks are:
Blue benz
War is won
Spicy
27 summers
Full circle

How you "really like" Stillmatic but don't listen to ANY Nas album after it..? That just doesn't make any sense.
:what:

You missed out on greatness, but to each their own I guess...

Car 85 is quickly becoming one of my favorite tracks. It's in the same pocket as some of his other classic laid back cuts like War, Stay and Purple.

It’s my favorite nas storytelling reminiscing “pocket” which ishard to describe but you know it when you hear it. Really relaxed unrushed basic rapping over a simple beat.

Also similar to “surviving the times” feeling or even “du rags” two of my all time favorite Nas joints

I think he got that style from listening to slick Rick :manny:

this drive for excellence and the album’s consistency is what makes it so good.

Said it when it came out Hit Boy was producing the album... Nas does better when there’s a good exec producer. Illmatic, IWW, LIG. Even Lost Tapes was put together by a label executive if I remember right. Stillmatic was great but Destiny should have cut the tracklist down.

Destiny was 7 year's old when Stillmatic dropped

Yep!

I also remember the projections for Hip Hop Is Dead being 200k. Jeezy was slick talking about “watch them first week number”. Then Nas sold 358K outselling EVERYBODY’S projections and everyone (Jeezy included) got mighty silent.

The numbers can and will go up if Nas makes more rounds by Friday. Breakfast Club, LA leakers, Angie, and Sway. Best part is he doesn't have to leave his house to do them.

We might be pleasantly surprised. I'm almost certain that the people saying they don't like it are lying for clout. This might go down as AOTY, and if it doesn't win a Grammy I'm never gonna take that award seriously (not that I do anyway, but this is their last chance).

King's Disease - 5/10
Blue Benz - 6/10
Car 85 - 8/10
Ultra Black - 6/10
27 Summers - 6/10
Replace Me - 6/10
Til the War is Won - 7/10
All Bad - 6/10
The Definition - 6/10
Full Circle - 7/10
10 Points - 8/10
The Cure - 6/10
Spicy - 4/10

6/10

Nas is on point lyrically, but is losing his ferociousness (on purpose? adult delivery?) on his vocals. If he wasn't spitting such knowledge alot of these would border on 'boring' songs. I'ma keep like 4 of these in rotation. Better than NASIR and Lost Tapes 2, but all 3 of these projects have been disappointing for Nas standards, and don't top ANY of his older albums. The God is getting old though, and I'm still surprised he can put out such efforts this late into his career when most would be putting out straight garbage. Legacy not tarnished with this, still in my top 3.
