Why did he even bring up Nas at all? It's all opinion, if you think Jay-z is the greatest that's fine....and valid. Him mentioning Nas shows you that he's a c0cksucker and one of them Joe Buddens and Mal types who will never fully forgive Nas for kicking their hero's ass mercilessly.
....or...

he brought up the only other person you could make an argument against Hov for in his opinion

That's bitter shyt. I can talk about why I think Michael Jordan is the best NBA player ever without slighting Lebron at all, or even mentioning him, it's unnecessary...unless you got some doubt there yourself.

Nas needs to release 10 points as the next single. Read the climate of the country. He really spitting inspirational lessons. Ebro should be playing that shyt all the time on hot 97

Some Nas fans are a bit off with their singles suggestions, lol...the obvious choice is "Replace Me" or "All Bad". I wouldn't mind "27 Summers", even with just the one verse, that short shyt works nowadays. I'm hoping he goes with "Replace Me", that hook fits what works today perfectly and him and Big Sean both got off.

His take was about “bad beats” when it comes to IWW. And I’m telling him that wasn’t even the argument for that album. It was the “selling out” that was the issue.

I stand by it tho. "Bad beats" and "commercial shyt" could be interchangable. Again, listen to the drums on the Trackmasters tracks. They aren't boom bap, there are cymbal crashes...of course a "real hip hop" purist would consider that shyt trash in 1996. Go listen to The Message and then listen to the drums on any east coast album from that year. Ironman to Reasonable Doubt. Listen to the snares. I know I sound crazy talking about drums so much but I'm telling you...that's a major reason rap nerds were mad. Find me one cymbal crash on a notable east coast rap album that year lol.

The ironic thing is that now, the IWW style drums are very normal in rap and a staple of shyt from Ross and other rappers than many people praise. Trackmasters were ahead of their time.

It’s reads exactly like I said. He brought Nas up for no reason. And he was condescending to people who put Nas over Jay and acting like Nas over Jay is an opinion but Jay over Nas is a fact.

:mjlol:@9th being enamored with the first 7 records of the blueprint bring recorded in a weekend when lyrically Jay was on cruise control on that album. Production was the star. Bringing up Nas was unnecessary.
