Another lie, myth and false narrative made to put Nas down and shift the overall outlook of his discography.

Let’s just talk about Nas last 3 projects. Was the production bad on Life Is Good, Nasir and Lost Tapes2? Not at all. But yet all I hear is Ross needs to executive produce for Nas

Ross executive producing a Nas album would be dope. Ross even says he and Nas talked about it. Nas doesn't NEED Ross though. Every artist could benefit from having an executive producer other than themselves though.

Still, even if Nas dropped an album with top shelf J.U.S.T.I.C.E League and Ross's usual producers, people would still complain.

Also lets for conversation’s sake say that Hit Boy isn’t producing the entire album. I wouldn’t say no to some Dr. Dre, No I.D., DJ Dahi, Salaam Remi, or Swizz production.

And I know nikkas gonna balk at Swizz but Echo was incredible and that Sade sampled snippet sounded heavenly.

If Ross EP'ed a Nas album, there would obviously be great beats but Ross ear is very stylish and cinematic to me. Nas would sound great over that but I do also like Nas over sparser beats sometimes - stuff like QB Politics and It Never Ends. Ideally I'd want a balance between the two IMO

NY all day..Da Stead & BK..
Wonder how many songs we’re getting:jbhmm:

I’m hoping 12-14. I can do without any features but if he’s going to throw anybody on it I could see Ross having a verse.

Its a long shot but i’d REALLY like to see Nas and Method Man do a song together, but thats just me dreaming.
Nas and Meth got a song together. Also. I’m hoping his track wit Benny is on here.

Q Tip was on Street’s Disciple. And nobody cared. Like I said before. People just want something to say. Cause when he gives it to people. They bytch and moan. He literally said he didn’t release those tracks he did with Pete Rock because he knows people have an unrealistic expectation when it comes to his production and he didn’t want Pete to have to go through that.

Breh, no disrespect whatsoever intended, but I'm calling pure :duck: on the bolded. You and I had this discussion before not too long ago and I asked you to show and prove, and you told me to look it up. I've tried unsuccessfully, but I need to see that in print from a reputable source.

I'm not saying you don't believe this to be the case, but I do think you may have misheard or misinterpreted what Nas may have said regarding Pete Rock production.

As I've said before, NO RAPPER and damn sure NO LABEL, is gonna waste the time, money, and effort recording music, and shelve it to shield a producer's ego from potential criticism. That would be without question the silliest and dumbest reason ever not to release music. Nas and Pete aren't even label mates, why the fukk would he pay Pete Rock for production and just eat the cost over fear of the fans shytting on Pete Rock?

It makes ZERO sense.

Nas was, however, on record shortly after Stillmatic dropped when asked saying (and I'm paraphrasing) that he tried to get at Pete for beats on Stillmatic, but he was still in his feelings about not being on IWW, and he didn't have time rehashing old drama at the end of the day, so he supports Pete if he and C.L. can work things out (this is back in '01 when Pete and C.L. reunited for a few shows and recorded material and were talking publicly about possibly doing an album together), but that he was gonna finish Stillmatic with or without Pete.

i too, recall reading what @spliz about the Pete Rock track. Might have been somewhere on SOHH or something. I remember reading that Nas had done tracks with Pete Rock and he was going to have them on LT2.
