Breh, no disrespect whatsoever intended, but I'm calling pure :duck: on the bolded. You and I had this discussion before not too long ago and I asked you to show and prove, and you told me to look it up. I've tried unsuccessfully, but I need to see that in print from a reputable source.

I'm not saying you don't believe this to be the case, but I do think you may have misheard or misinterpreted what Nas may have said regarding Pete Rock production.

As I've said before, NO RAPPER and damn sure NO LABEL, is gonna waste the time, money, and effort recording music, and shelve it to shield a producer's ego from potential criticism. That would be without question the silliest and dumbest reason ever not to release music. Nas and Pete aren't even label mates, why the fukk would he pay Pete Rock for production and just eat the cost over fear of the fans shytting on Pete Rock?

It makes ZERO sense.

Nas was, however, on record shortly after Stillmatic dropped when asked saying (and I'm paraphrasing) that he tried to get at Pete for beats on Stillmatic, but he was still in his feelings about not being on IWW, and he didn't have time rehashing old drama at the end of the day, so he supports Pete if he and C.L. can work things out (this is back in '01 when Pete and C.L. reunited for a few shows and recorded material and were talking publicly about possibly doing an album together), but that he was gonna finish Stillmatic with or without Pete.
nikka. For one. Recording music doesn’t cost that much fukkin money. So I don’t even know wtf u getting at right there. Plenty of nikkas shelve music. Or leave shyt in the vaults for whatever reasons they feel. Ur whole stance makes zero sense. Otherwise we wouldn’t have unreleased music from any artist. shyt muthafukkin Michael Jackson even had unreleased music he wasn't satisfied with. Another thing. I don’t have to lie to u nikkas. Let’s get that out the way. @Big Mark posted the link.

This.

The creative process sometimes leaves artists in a spot where they scrap pieces of or even entire works for whatever reason. That's how we even got a Lost Tapes to begin with.

Eminem has made some of the worst shyt I ever heard in my life after 2004. And that nikka gets passes for shyt that Nas or no other rapper would get.

Eminem gets passes for bad music? nah breh absolutely incorrect.

I get the vibe that Nas goes out of his way NOT to work with people that some of his fans would like him to. Almost like, "fukk you, I'm gonna do what I want to do." He seems to be maturing past some of that, because a lot of Lost Tapes 2 was actually not lost, and recorded specifically for the album. The QB Politics joint by Pete Rock was recorded recently, and so was the Alchemist joint.

So I think he's doing what he wants to do, but also realizing that he doesn't need to go out of his way to avoid working with producers that were on Illmatic, etc.

And BTW I think Hit-Boy is underrated, and I'm looking forward to whatever they've got.

And regarding Primo. Primo is more difficult to work with than a lot of people realize. The fact that Primo and Nas never did a full album is often blamed on Nas, and Primo is always on some "I would be down to do it anytime", but there's a reason why the last time Primo worked with Nas and Jay was almost 20 years ago, and it's not all the fault of Nas and Jay.

I heard Primo tries to force certain beats on cats and wont send them anything else to pick from. This was back in ealry 2000's.

*edit* i see that you noted along to that in a later post. That's part of the reason him and Bis had a disagreement

His fan base will call Recovery, MMLP2 and Kamikaze classics:mjlol:

Yeah the casuals, maybe some but not all, but the core hip hop fanbase which is the most important has always critiqued his shyt heavy. Fan across the board casual or not ripped Relapse to shreds and that had masterpiece type work on it.

The one thing Nas hasn’t done that Jay did do EARLY on was network with the whose who of the industry. Flex, Angie, Elliot Wilson, etc. they all know Jay and like him because they feel they have a PERSONAL relationship or understanding with him.

Nas, especially early in his career was considered an enigma. He didn’t pal around too much within the industry and only fukked with artists and people he legitimately liked. And even people he DID fukk always said he was elusive and never quick to open up. Also Nas was QUICK to call people out. He called out Angie and Flex during the Power 105 rant. He called Angie’s rap song terrible and said that Flex takes cock in his mouth. I’m surprised to this DAY that Hot 97 didn’t do him like they did Wu Tang and ban all of his songs for years on end. He of course battled Jay-Z. He called out Nore & Dipset. Alot of those feuds people don’t realize took YEARS to resolve themselves. He appeared on the cover of XXL burning a SOURCE magazine. He was apparently offended by Elliot Wilson breaking stories about his divorce from Kelis and had Anthony Saleh tell him that Nas would NEVER grant him an interview for Rap Radar. He refused to interview with Whoo Kid back when Whoo was affiliated with G-Unit.

Nas pretty much refused to play the “game” as well as Jay did.

Nas came out alright doing it his way:ehh:, his character has never been questioned like THAT.

This is so odd to me because QB Politics doesn’t sound like a finished track. The weird way it starts, then the way it moves to discussing Prodigy, then the abrupt ending...it feels more like some ideas thrown together over a dope beat, that was supposed to be completed later.

Seems like he was gonna address more than just P on there.
