In my opinion that shyt is a detriment to the album

That's why Life is Good was great to me. The production was cinematic and Nas was slaying his verses. Very limited features

Distant relatives had long songs too and that made it a dope album.

But I fux with the shorter songs too. And this type of album from Nas was needed. He just proved he can still make fire music under the new music formats

Straight to the point. Didn't try to make things complicated by doing too much.

I wonder who really oversaw this was a easy listen.

Today's generation is what it is. Shorter movies, shorter youtube videos, shorter songs, people skip watching nba games and just watch the 2-3 minute highlights on youtube.

The long shyts don't work no more except for die hards who are there for the lyrics. I live for the long tracks with multiple verses too but it is what it is man

Nas first album was short & sweet. Dudes just want the old on loop. Go listen to the old & leave Nas to do what he loves to do as an artist.

But he can't cater to everyone. It's gotta be an artistic masterpiece and hip-hop but also fit today's music.

Why does it have to be compared to the best album of all time. The best album of all time was created over 25 yrs ago & Nas has always had to be reminded that whatever he does is not better than ILLMATIC. This rhetoric is old and tired. We damn near 3 decades later and for whatever reason Nas has to always do better. According to y’all he gave y’all his BEST & y’all still asking him to make every album better than the BEST! It’s silly to keep doing that 3 decades later. He is giving you his real life experience NOW!

After my what 6th listen I'm very happy with this album, concise and doesn't drag on (Double R pun) Kings disease Intro, Blue Benz, 27 summers () and yes Spicy are what's been rattling my system

Solid 4/5 project for me
