SINY!!
I liked Nasir and thought it was unfairly hated on, but LT2 was much better and at least off two listens this much better as well.

I didn’t think Nasir was bad. Thought it was solid. Definitely far from being on par with LT2, LIG, any of his other more recent projects.

Nasir could have been great though. A 10 track album of Late Registration-ish sounding Kanye tracks could have been something special.

I’m more than happy with this new project. It’s been on repeat, a new favorite track every few hours, etc. IMO this has longevity/staying power and that’s how a classic/near classic is defined.

It does make me curious about that album Swizz claims to have made with Nas. Would love to see that drop....if just to make comparisons between the Nas mentality/approach to creating the two.

27 Summers remix who you want on it?

Ideally other cats who have been out 27 Summers/ around since the 90's for me.

Prodigy (Rest In Power) would have been dope. :mjcry: The beat has a darkness to it, which would have fit him nicely.

Out of cats we still have here Rae and Jay, probably.

My outside pick - Black Thought. He has a chameleon pen and I could see him finding some interesting pockets in the beat.

Finally listened to this in a proper setting, got my sour whiskey in me and in the whip. Yo real talk we need to protect this man!

This album was so needed for hip hop.

Could have done with fewer features, big sean verse was trash. Az brought his A-game to that track.

Kayne album was not good. Lost tapes 2 was good but this is wicked!

He wasn’t mumbling and the lyrics are pretty clear to the ear he just had a melodic flow ya nuts :russ:
If you say so. On first listen I only caught about half of what he was saying. I caught more on subsequent listens but he’s singing in a way where clarity is going to be sacrificed for style. it’s textbook mumble rap to me and that style ain’t for me :yeshrug:

Am i the only one who liked Nasir?!
I went back to the Nasir thread, and mad people were giving it props. They weren’t saying it was the best LP, but giving it a solid 7-7.5. Others were hating simply because of the Kanye association, but there was definitely more positive feedback. Flashforward two years, and now everyone says it was trash and the only good song is “Adam and Eve.”

This is Nas Blueprint 3. In terms having a mainstream sounding album and current relevant features (Durk, Ferg, PAAK,Fivio,Don,Big Sean) Nas executed better than Jay(Drake,Jeezy,RiRi,Ye,Cole, Cudi).

This album is having a lot of impact in the culture.

Oceans and Fukkwithmeyouknowigotit were both dope to me. :manny:

I fukked with 'Picasso Baby' on the strength of the Adrian Younge sample. The video felt like some shyt that Kanye at the time would have killed. For Jay it just kinda felt :ld:

Sidenote: I dunno if he was wary of getting washed by Rae and Ghost, but 'Heaven' could have been great with all three of them.

true but fukkwithmeyouknowigotit was a rick ross song originally
