The trait that made Nas special don’t exist anymore. And it’s been that way for over a decade
What trait is that. Because that trait to me is introspective, evocative lyricism and it’s on display here. It was on display on the last album, and then LiG.

NY all day..Da Stead & BK..
He’s been that way for awhile. And his flow is basically the same on every track. But he drops every couple years and it’s either solid or great. Good dude who I always root for.
Yea I just feel like its getting more and more like that. Crazy cause dude sounds dope af on dope beats. Or atleast standard loops. lol. Check ur dm.

It’s gone breh

LIG was his last hurrah and even then he was running on fumes
LIG was full of that shyt, from You Wouldn’t Understand to Back When to Locomotive to Bye Baby. On KD there was Blue Benz and Car 85. On this album there’s Moments and Nas Is Good. You’ve now shifted your argument into territory that doesn’t make sense.

If you want to argue the songs themselves aren’t as good as they used to be…fine that’s your opinion. But just from a writing perspective all the songs I mentioned are in that prototypical project window and/or inner vision lane. A better argument for you would be that Nas dated himself by focusing so much on the last. I wouldn’t agree with you but at least you could make an argument that we could discuss/debate.

And even that argument would be strange, since it could be then argued that Nas dated himself on Illmatic.

Nas has always been a nostalgic, introspective, and retrospective rapper, talking about yesterday and contrasting it to today. He was 20 being nostalgic about being 12.
