I’m hearing that this release date has been planned for months in advance this isn’t spur of the moment “rushed” follow up.

Nas nor his team had any idea that Kanye was dropping on the 6th and Nas isn’t worried and doesn’t particularly care

I was saying last week...Drake should drop whenever Kanye drops. Crush that dude, straight up. But it's gonna be hard because I truly believe we'll never know exactly when he's gonna drop. It could be a month from now, making it impossible to predict or plan for.

I agree from Nas perspective - or any artist really - there is zero reason to wait for Kanye. Release your shyt when you say you're gonna release it. That alone puts you ahead of Kanye lol.

I woke up, checked my IG feed and this was the first thing I saw. :heh:

A surprise to be sure, but a welcomed one. :wow:

Aint this the same day as Donda though:patrice:

Let's be real. Knowing how Kanye's been with the last few album cycles, I doubt it's going to drop on that day too. He shouldn't have announced the date until he was confident in what he had and the album was virtually done. We'll have to see though.

I dont think he really cares about sales at this point in his career, he was never a superstar on the level of Hov or Kanye. But he was still able to have a lot of #1 albums and 7 platinum and multi platinum ones which is huge.
He's a legacy act now and he's enjoying himself creatively while still being more relevant than 95% of rappers from his era, only Jay can outsell him from that same period in 2021.

From 96-99 he was definitely a superstar. It Was Written spent four CONSECUTIVE WEEKS at number 1 and I am’s first week outsold Vol. 3’s first week and in that year Nas became only the second rapper behind DMX to release two years platinum albums in the same year.

Thats superstar status

Both their egos are too big. They want a month to themselves to dominate the news cycle not share it.

he don't have to worry, the fan will support anyway. and it's not like the old days when you had to choose on which artist you were spending your 18 dollars on. with the streaming you can hear both and focus your listening on your favorite project
