ironically in some ways Nas was born in the wrong era. Kendrick and Cole cut from the same cloth as Nas i(inferior MCs though they may be) in terms of subject matter and heavily influenced by him and yet they get praised like crazy and do big numbers because this is the woke era. Nas had to play ball with the mainstream as he was at his peak in the 90s/ 2000s, and now he's 47 so naturally younger dudes don't check for him like they would Kendrick

If Kendrick dropped I Gave You Power as a single now people would go crazy for it. But for Nas in the 90s that really had to be an album cut

I'll be the 1st to admit I'm somewhat stuck in the past especially when comes to Nas. His talent is literally the gift & curse because u always feel like he can give you more. That doesn't make this album less enjoyable to me because there isn't I gave you power Undying love type songs on here. I want that old shyt I'll go listen to it "they said they want the old Nas back/Play the Clue tapes for old verses"
