Watching
smh @ you thinking this is the issue.

:childplease: I know its the usage at any point thats the issue. But when a song is made to be popular and starts with nikka, what do you expect radio DJs and white people in general to do? Not play the song, say Negroes, N, somethings in Paris?

In the Silver Lining
Coldplay is my shiit...but damn tell Chris Martin to come get his girl...she wildin out here in the virtual streets....

Look, I understand she was trying to be ironic and funny......but sometimes they just get to comfortable with this shiit.....and I'm the kind of person that doesn't get crazy about the word.....although, I can imagine being around a bunch of white folks and I'm the only black person and hearing some one say the word....shiit dont' feel right...and I wasn't a slave nor lived during the civil rights era. People can say what they want honestly, and hip hop obviously makes it difficult for white fans to not say the word, since it is so pervasive from the conscious lyricists, gangsta rappers, shake your booty artists........if you are a white, Asian, Hispanic fan of hip hop.....its a difficult thing to avoid not saying I would imagine......its almost subliminally put in your head.....:ohhh:......even if your a "cool" person...

So this is the thing, it's walking a tightrope to defend and/or condemn people for using this word in this era, unless its an outright racists rant.......its almost faking jacks, in the sense that you don't approve of non-black people saying it point blank, but then recognize reality that you can't control people's tongue....so the best thing is to remind the historical context of that word, which is literal physical enslavement/bondage/suffering/widespread approval of black folks in the most disgusting conditions.........cause there are free thinkers that might get at you verbally or physically...... :yeshrug: :manny: .................................... :mjpls:

Nas though.............:comeon:

Why aren't you in here trying to label Nas as a "certain type" of black person like you did to Kanye?

i didn't label kanye west anything, what are you talking about? white people referring to the song "N!ggas in Paris" as "N!ggas in Paris" is fine, it's the name of the song. White people taking a picture of 2 blacks guys on stage and wording it "N!ggas in Paris for real" is a different something. Forget how Nas, Kanye, me and you feel about it, how does SHE feel about it? why does she feel so comfortable tweeting that?

Well the other thread consisted of you posting the thoughts of some guy with you consigning him. The guy in the video that you posted clearly said that Kanye and Jay Z are selling out by being cool with Paltrow. He was basically blaming them for her tweet even though we don't even know if those 2 were aware of her tweet. You were vouching for the guy's argument saying that he made valid points. Now here we have Nas taking it 10 steps further and not only gives her a pass for saying it, he threatens anybody who has a problem with her saying it. Jay Z gets called a c00n for even being friends with the white girl. I'm just looking for consistency with you diehard Nas fans.

As far as what she was thinking, I don't know. My best guess is that he was thinking that she was being cute and witty. As far as why she felt comfortable tweeting that, again I don't know. My best guess is that she didn't think anyone would take offense. She didn't even type the word "nikka", she edited the word. Seriously, I think that this a non issue. We all know that she didn't mean any harm. We all know that that was the name of the song. We all know that she didn't even type he actual word in her tweet. If she had "ninjas in Paris for real" instead, would you think that was acceptable?

This is the GOAT's biggest L. If celebreties cool with her calling them that, it should be behind closed doors. Smh @ ppl running to defend these snow bunnies using this word. U never see ppl running to defend these rappers likes this when shyt hits the fan.
