how many intruments/compostions did kendrick play/compsoe on tpab? he displayed 0 improvement as a n mc from gkmc to tpab. which imo was disspaointing.

the actual rapping on TPAB is overshadowed by the compositions. stil great music. but thist :s shouldnt happen to the "GOAT" of this generation

Disagree completely. GKMC is a story. TPAB is a metaphor. It takes more skill to use 16 tracks to encompass a metaphor than it does to take 13 tracks to tell a story.

Can't argue with you on overshadowing or none of that, that's really just opinion. When I listen, I hear Kendrick when he needs to be heard, I hear the instruments when they need to be heard. But I can say that Kendrick showed improvement on this album.

I just feel like he isn't that good of an artist

IMO:

Biggie is a better rapper than pac but pac is a better artist. Jay is a better rapper than Kanye but Kanye is a better artist, Nas is a better rapper than Kendrick, Lupe, Kanye, Eminem, Drake, Cole,... but they are better artists than him

A lot of people use the word artistry but don't know what it means. It's just a word they can throw out to try justify their opinion, Nas has showed so much artistry in Hip Hop, with the stories, concepts and all sorts. Nas is a true artist, diverse topics., Nas is a dope artist. How is Nas not an artist or how does he not practice artistry?

I think some take Kendrick incorporating various elements into his music as having more "artistry"

Like the poem concurrent throughout, spoken word, various characters in an album, the interludes, his voice changes, beat changes, song structures, these kinda things...

Whereas Nas is more...straighforward? I don't know, hopefully somebody can chime in ...

To me, Nas is one of our greatest poets ... his jewels are in his words ultimately. Nas speaks to me in a different, different type of way...

shyt just speaks man. Kendrick has this too, Sing About Me, How Much A Dollar Cost, Kush & Corinthians... but ... I don't know, you gotta love it.

My nikka..imma keep it real...I'm starting to feel like this forum ain't for me no more...it's become literally terrible and overrun with nikkas who dont know shyt bout hip hop and I feel like I'm talking to teenage white boys...if it wasn't for certain posters I wouldn't log on...dead ass..
