KD2 is the best musically but Nas' rapping is still semi-
on there which is why I'd put KD3 above it overall. The lyrics and content are much better
Heard you, I agree. Nas stepped the lyrics up a lot tho from KD1 to KD2 to me. But yeah, KD2 is the best album all around out of all of them, imo. Rapping wise, KD3 and Magic 2 are the bestKD2 is the best musically but Nas' rapping is still semi-

Not saying they’re fat…lyrically/conceptually he was getting off on some of these…but these are joints I skip when I run KD3 back, just musically they ain’t my bop. Literally like every other song ranges from good to fire tho.
Magic lowkey might be his most perfect album since Illmatic,

I was gonna say KD 1 also but like you said the back half of KD 2 has sort of the production people had been dreaming for Nas to be on (well the reasonable people not the ones who literally want a 98 beat tape like what flee lord of whoever else they and 5 other ppl like )

Nas just loosen up from the complex rhymes a little just to let y’all know to root for the villain
KD2 is my favorite of the series. I’ll go to my grave with the opinion KD2 is a classic.
And Nas actually did a lot for KD2 compared any of the other projects as far as marketing. Interview with Ebro. Video ready to go the night of release (Rare) two more videos (Brunch On Sundays and Nas Is Good but Nas is Good didn’t release as his friend that was at the shoot was murdered that same night) he also performed Rare at the Grammys.

KD2 felt like an actual event. The minute I heard that snippet of "Rare," I knew we were in for a treat. It caught me the same way "Blue Benz" caught me when Hit-Boy played it during the beat battle.
KD3 also felt like an event, but that's because of the expectations surrounding it and the fact that it was announced months in advance. I also think KD2 could have been bigger. He had Eminem and Lauryn Hill on the same album. Those two songs could have been promoted like crazy. I also feel like the press run wasn't as big as it was with KD1. But KD2 also gave us that great Grammy performance.
My original comment was telling you that you should have included "Every Ghetto" in your breakdown, but it's listed as a bonus track on the back of the album cover. Whenever I go on YouTube Music, "Every Ghetto" is listed as part of Stillmatic so I always consider it the last song on the album.
I've said before that The Blueprint was better from a production standpoint, while Stillmatic was better from a lyrical standpoint. And if you put them together, you might have the GOAT rap album. I don't think Stillmatic is anywhere near as inconsistent as I Am... and it's a lot easier to listen to. An 8.5/10 is a very high score for an album that's flawed.
It possibly wouldn't be outtakes from the Hit Boy sessions. Before we got KD1, Nas was saying he had material ready to go for more installments. There's still plenty of material in the Def Jam vaults that we haven't heard especially music he made from 2012-2018 prior to Nasir dropping. It would also be the only way as of now that I see other producers on a Nas album. There's also the factvthat Nas said Lost Tapes 3 would be feature heavy.

After 1 week of listens yea this >>> Magic 1. Pound for pound this may be 2nd best of the run (i got KD3 As best)
The only song I dont like is Motion. Abracadabra is unique af. Office hours and bokeem woodbine
Legit summer bangers.
And then my only critique of this run has been sometimes a lack of that deep, soulful introspective Nas (over good beats). But he ended it with 2 classic Nas tracks that will age like wine Slow it down and pistols on your album. Great album
