This is my favorite Nas album. Personally, I'm putting it above stillmatic

I mean stillmatic gotta a few meh tracks so i can see this been above after a few months of playtime. So far no average or bad tracks, every joint fits and goes hard.

There was a time when both Phonte and Pooh were saying Nas basically fell off after It Was Written. Of course 9th been throwing his little shots at Nas because he’s a Hov stan.


But in the last 3-4 years Pooh especially has given Nas praise. I don’t remember him saying anything bad about Nas in recent memory.

I wouldn't say I was a Hit Boy skeptic, but I found him a bit overrated until KD2 but now the dude is impressively able to channel the best out of Nas and has shown a lot of versatility in his beats. I'm a fan

The first thing I did once I heard this album was take in everythin Hit did .... what sample is that? is that even a sample? How did he keep it interesting?

Its a brilliant piece of work to decipher ..... sounds like you're a beathead like me , Hitboy and Alc are the only dons that puts me in this mindsate

it’s funny. I find the albums of Nas’ that hip hop heads aren’t fans of get better ratings from critics. As you say SD and HHID were fairly well praised by critics while Stillmatic was seen as average but hip hop heads loved it.

to me SD and HHID are solid albums but only have a handful of tracks I go back to now. While Stillmatic, Life Is Good, Untitled and God’s Son aged better.

Of all Nas’ albums since I got into hip hop heavy in 2001 HHID and Nasir the ones which disappointed me the most. HHID good but with that title I hoped for something more. Nasir I don’t think you can blame Nas beyond saying he shouldn’t have done a rushed project

Nas be having so many industry people in they feelings for just doing him.

No other Hip-Hop artists has faced these types of unrealistic expectations or criticism.
