The only song I don't like is "Cops Shot the Kid," but this was always a nice little EP. I had a lot of fun listening to it when it came out and there are a few genuinely great songs ("Adam and Eve," "Everything").
Kanye just wasn't in a place to give Nas his best work and didn't take it seriously. It was the first album after Life is Good, so the expectations were high and.........this was what we got. This album already looks bad next to Nas' earlier projects, but when you compare it to the Hit-Boy albums and (presumably) the Premier album, it will probably get erased from Nas' history altogether. It's going to be a Jeopardy question if it already isn't.
"This Chicago-based producer forced Nas to write songs in a car while he made beats for an album that was delayed and edited to make Nas sound off-beat."
"Who is Kanye West?"
"Correct."
