What? I mean all of the praise and mentions it's getting on social media...that doesn't match 35k right? Doesn't it feel like it should sell like 400k first week from all the love and attention it's getting from everyone? Exactly.

The 35k just shows you that the 25+ crowd aint really buying albums like that. I won't front, I didn't even buy it myself until last night, only because I felt bad, lol. And I'm a super stan.
People lie online look at what happen with lil Kim .

She didn’t even sell 1k but got all the love online .

It says Taylor and Pop are fighting for number 1 while Nas and The Killers are looking to make a “Top Debut”.

Does that mean Top Debut within the top ten or what?

It is confusing.

Taylor Swift and Pop Smoke are fighting for #1 overall, but those have been out for a while, so they aren't debuts. Nas and The Killers just released, so those are debuts.

As far as the whole "debuting at #1" debate....it's completely meaningless in 2020.

Nicki stans put together streaming parties to listen to it nonstop and organized groups to buy multiple copies of "Trollz" solely so she could hit #1. Any fan base with a sufficient number of weirdos can force a #1 song these days.

Looks like Nas will do around 60-65k (right now predicted at 53k after 3 days)

Let's put it in perspective for 2020:

Blueface: "Find The Beat" 13k first week sales
Yo Gotti: "Untrapped" 35k first week
Megan Tha Stallion: "Suga" 41k first week
Childish Gambino - 31k first week
Lil Durk - Just Cuz Yall Waited" - 57k first week
Gunna - 101k
Lil Yachty - 31k
G-Eazy - 27k.

You’d think with Nas target demo being older he’d have great pure sales numbers.
I hope he cracks 50k.

Pure sales numbers will probably be a decent chunk of the number he's doing but his over all numbers aren't gonna be crazy. Most of the people I talk to didn't even know he dropped a new album. And these are guys that been Nas fans since "Live At The BBQ".

Older rappers don't get the push of currently hot/new rappers. It is what it is.

The album is dope. I went to ball in the park and there was some dudes in the outdoor gym area bumping Car #85 and I heard Spicy mixed on the radio, I haven't heard new Nas music in the streets of NYC in years.

:salute: to Nas

But I told y'all he was done selling he did 77K on Nasir due to the Kanye stimulus package/hype. These are still good numbers in today's climate and Nas is a legacy act and he's no longer on a major.

That's within the range I predicted, about 35k-55k.

If they wanted to sell more they should have released a video and had Ultra Black on the official Nas youtube page earlier. Not bad numbers given how long he's been around. I think this album could have decent legs btw. Lots of tracks that younger people will stumble across due to the features.

That makes more sense.

I knew Taylor Swift was a juggernaut but didn’t that album drop a MONTH ago:wtf: she still moving units like that?

Hits Daily is usually ALWAYS about 10-15K units off their predictions so we’ll see.

I’m still going to be streaming like crazy to get Nas that number 1:blessed:
