They've aired the Best Rap Album Grammy the last few years though (Tyler last year, Cardi the year before, Chance before that, Kendrick, so yeah the last 5 years or so. That streak is ending next year)

Matter of fact i think the last time they DIDN’T air was ironically in 2013 when NAS was last nominated (Drake’s punk ass won) but they televised Best Rap/Sung Performance that year


Maybe they’ll go ahead and air Best Rap Album this time too. It seems like the academy is sending a message that they are finally ready to view Hip Hop as grown folks music and not just for kids and young folks. It would be a nice gesture to have Nas, as an elder statesmen of the genre, give an acceptance speech.
