Even if Nas doesn't win, this right here is HUGE!!! I literally saw the list and couldn't believe it, had to see for myself on their website and they got me like :blessed:

They finally got it right and the message is bigger than the win as far as hip hop goes. in 2020??? i would've never guessed it :hubie:

I'm legit celebrating this tonight with a few drinks :salute:

Am I wrong for thinking that there should be 2 rap/hip hop categories?

Like one for the radio friendly accessible music that deserves praise (pop smoke, lil baby, Roddy rich etc,) then the traditional rapping albums like these listed above.

Because this list is a great rappers list, but doesn’t actually show the real landscape of hip hop right now. but overall solid list

mines would be:
Lil Baby
Nas
Freddie
Pop Smoke
Roddy Ricch
Royce (if I could make it 6 lol)

Yea it would be dope if they had a “Best Rap Album” category and also a “Best Traditional Hip Hop Album” category.

Hip Hop has been outselling and outheadlining EVERY other genre for years now. It should definitely have two genre categories

Which P?

I'm :flabbynsick:
the only P's that come to my mind are Prodigy, Sean Price, and Styles P.

CEO of Quality Control. He manages Lil Baby, City Girls, Migos, etc.

He should know that the Grammys is won by industry and label politics rather than actual sales, popularity or even quality of music

Royce and D Smoke ??

:hhh:

Lil Baby was robbed.

did Pop Smoke, Roddy Ricch, and Juice WRLD get put in a different category or something ?
I don't pay attention or care about the Grammy's like that but I would've assumed they were shoe in's.

Ironically rap album of the year is typically driven by sales and popularity
