I didn't even think about this. You might be right on this one. The anti-semitic and Farrakhan association might torpedo it though.
Real talk. I don't even think the fukking committee listens to the albums. I don't know how they choose the winners, but I know with the nominees they have a committee and they just sort of differ to them. I've heard that's how it's done with picking the winners as well. Some of this stuff came to light when 9th Wonder/Q-Tip had the drama.

What was Kanye's nomination? I couldn't find it.

And Eminem was an easy nomination for years. Before Revival, literally all of his albums got nominated. Even after he said what he said, they still nominated him for Best Rap Song in 2019. I definitely believe his comments had something to do with it because why nominate "Lucky You" and not the album it came from? Eminem's people got in the Academy's ear and let them know to leave him alone, and they listened.

Kanye got nominated for Best Contemporary Christian Album

Nas or Alch might actually get a Grammy :blessed:

P in heaven smiling right now :wow:
Right? I know neither one has one for an album they were entirely involved in, but I'd be curious to know if Nas has any Grammy's from albums he was featured on. It's kinda dope, actually. If you are in the liner notes for an album that win, you get a Grammy. 9th Wonder and Alchemist both got Grammy plaques for the beats they did on DAMN by Kendrick, for example.

So if Nas was ever featured on an album that won a Grammy, then technically he's a Grammy award winning artist, but obviously not in the way we all want him to be. I know I'm being a nerd about this.

It's high time Nas got a Grammy for a Nas album. And for the record King's Disease isn't my #1 AOTY, but I'd still like to see Nas get it; I'm not hopeful Nas will ever have a better shot than now.

Like I said Kanye PISSED on his Grammy and still got a nom. Its over for Cac Shady
:dead: I fukkin' forgot that Em album even dropped this year. Music to be Murdered By?

The crazy thing is I'm looking at my Apple Music "AOTY2020" playlist (I always put my favorite projects each year on a playlist) and out of the almost 400 songs (about 25 LPs and EPs I have on there for 2020), it never crossed my mind to put his on there.

And it's his best work in at least 10 years too:heh:

She was nominated for a bunch of other categories

Congratulations to Meg, I haven’t closely followed her career trajectory, but was she already on this path, or did her involvement in the shooting incident influence all this?

I love all these artist listed in these nominations, but calling it spade this is some Pitchfork CAC list. Lil Baby album was better than Jay Electronicas shyt

Pitchfork heavily promoted Lil Baby though. :dahell:

Cats like #1, platinum selling artists but talk about them like they're Lyricist Lounge super underground rappers nobody heard of. :mjlol:

shyt is crazy as hell.

Fred.
