It’s not about 25 and under crowd dude

Kool Moe Dee and Slick Rick wasn’t winning awards over Nas and Biggie in the 90’s

Because Slick Rick and Kool Moe Dee were FORCED into this bullshyt notion of being “Old School” simply because they’d been in the game longer than 3 years.

Its a new day. Hip Hop has expanded above and beyond the “youths only” days. Nas, Jay-Z, Common, The Roots, and others are elder statesmen who are putting out quality music and getting their flowers while they can smell them. The goal is for Nas and Jay to be getting Grammy nominations well into their 70’s like Bob Dylan, Rod Stewart, Herbie Hancock, Elvis Costello, etc. Ray Charles won Album Of The Year (Posthumously) at age 73. Elizabeth Cotton (Blues Artist) was 90 years old when she won a Grammy in 84.

Hip Hop should be allowed to evolve in the same manner, where the elder statesmen are just as recognized as the young kids. Nas put out an INCREDIBLE album. As did Jay Electronica. As did Royce.

Nas and Electron deserve their nominations

Jay at 50 still more than deserved his 4:44 nominations

Songs like Story of OJ and Bigger Picture are powerful songs that define our times. This should be the music being lauded not nikkas getting nominated because they rapped about selling dope really well for their niche real rap audience.

It’s not about age it’s about the culture and how the music resonates within society. I’m sure those artists you named as old heads their music was still impactful.

The only people listening to Royce 5’9 in 2020 is a niche audience. Gibbs is also a niche artist. Disrespectful to have them ahead of Lil Baby who was completely dominant.

Notice how I said Kool Moe Dee and Slick Rick but didn’t say LL or Kool G Rap who were still dropping culturally dominant music alongside Nas and Biggie

Lil Baby had the most dominant album in the culture 2020 period

These old nikkas crazy under no circumstances does a Royce 5’9 album deserve to be nominated he isn’t now nor ever was a Grammy artist and his shyt not moving the needle at all

Lil Baby, Pop these are the artists making the music that’s defining our times.

They went full retard with these nominations give it to Nas and wrap it up

Lil Baby not getting a nomination isn’t as crazy as Weeknd’s snub. But it’s damn close. He RAN shyt with the youngins in 2020.

People can’t act like the problem with the Grammys has been fixed just because they see the people they care about get noms. It’s gotten better. But the same shyt is still happening.

:patrice:so we cool with the grammies this year or is it still fukk the grammies?
personally it's still fukk the grammies, but whatever.

I'm :flabbynsick: and will Be 44 in a few months

But I have to call a Spade a Spade

 y'all old heads and hip hop zionist are celebrating but y'all asses been on that fukk the Grammys bullshyt for year's, now y'all:blessed:

:scust:

Be True To The Game

Do we care about the Grammys or is it fukk the Grammys?

All the excitement only makes it worse when you get mad at not being chosen

We need to come together and decide once and for all if this shyt matters or not. Cats stay going back and forth on their stance depending on whether their idol got nominated or not.

It’s not about being more into newcomers, or who’s more hip hop. It’s about respecting all sides of the game.

Under what criteria, other than personal preference, do pop and baby not deserve nominations? Baby is arguably the most impactful 25-and-under MC in the game. As for pop... when Jadakiss, French, Jim Jones and half the city are rapping over drill beats... who’s responsible for that?

Not trying to slight those who were included. Honestly, it’s more in line with what I fukk with. But for the Grammys to truly get it right, they can’t cater to one audience.
lil baby and pop smoke literally have the highest selling rap albums this year, regardless of how gatekeeping oldheads feel they are a representation of what modern day hip hop is whether they wanna accept it or not, not some 35+ year old rappers with niche audiences

I understand him perfectly fine and I’m from NY that says more about you

I see making fun of black men’s death and :mjpls: comments about black men’s accents is what’s cool Nas stans reaching new lows

Nas was never snubbed he arguably never truly deserved it anytime he was nominated but enjoy his legacy Grammy I guess :mjlol:
