What you're suggesting of doing physicasl/merch first and streaming later probably doesnt chart him anyway since its more weighted to streaming and they'd have probably set a limit on how much in stock they can press up as an indie. Remember most vinyl is made to order and shipped later and doesnt count to the first week sales. And they're shipping all over the world so only the US ones will count. He might end up doing what happen to Common/Pete Rock where the album drops and then months later is number 1 on the independent rap chart despite not charting at all on billboard so we'll see, its a different world now.

They've done a bit what of what you said with the sign copies and they've now posted merch the week after but again its a whole different model. The industry changing and rules are constantly. As long as they're selling well from the store.

But again I wouldnt stress about a 5k when its not even verified by any source and most of these old school rap independent dudes even big ones from Snoop to Common dont even chart like that anymore. It would be amazing if he did, not a big deal if he didnt. Sucks for about a week but then its carry on listening.
