Nas is 30+ years into his career and has moved past focusing on sales and making smash hits since God's Son.

He has nothing left to prove anymore and, if the album is good, none of this matters.

If the album was good, it would have sold a lot more than what it did lol

Still? Didn't he have 8 platinum (three double platinum in there) albums in a row to start his career? He can sell less now he is set, dude won.... I am sure his 21k sales on this album the first week will be fine.

i respect it for just doing an album to do it.

That being said I could only make it through 5 tracks and turned it off. That New York state of mind was :trash:
I liked it and I like that NY State Of Mind song but honestly this album should have been done back in 06 when it was mentioned (First time hearing about it mentioning them working together).
