catalogs aren't being bought mainly for streaming purposes. They are being bought for commercial, movie, television, and reissue purposes. If you own a catalog and release a box set each year for $200 and it sells just 100k, that's $20 million of your investment back(not including the overhead). That along with streaming, and other usage will have you recouped in under 10 years or less depending on how much you spent. This is ridiculous. Why do you think artists with catalogs that perform on streaming are being bombarded with offers? Smart investors know that they can buy a long term cash cow for quick money up front. It’s like a reverse mortgage in that it’s a terrible deal that someone who just wants the cash will take.
You guys just make up anything.
