"We buy black" is not a valid source. If it's true his manager said they only invested 100-500k in this, their return isn't nearly 40mil. I'm sure Nas received money from the sale...but I doubt it was even 1mil.

If they acquired 1% of the company from their investment, then thats 12 million. If Nas owns 25% of QBVP then he gets 3 million.

This is all theoretically, but for his cut to be less than a million, they would have to own less than half a percent of Ring (or Nas would have to own far less than 25% in his company) even half a percent at 25% is 1.5 million.

he's gonna be eating off investing in dropbox once they go public, though. they're looking at a $10+ billion valuation. nas isn't gonna make $400 million off it, though. more rappers should get into venture capitalism in the tech industry before that bubble bursts.
