But you can't deny Nas-Jay albums in same week means more press focus for both projects...

More press, but not more sales.

People don't go to record stores and make bulk or impulse buys. Most people will stream a few times or download it bootleg and leave it at that. Jay + Beyonce definitely taking sales away from Nas, because there's plenty of people who already getting their fill from a Jay+Beyonce album than bother with purchasing a Nas+Ye one.

Nas fans don't care about Beyoncé.

The Be-Hive are girls/women who don't listen to Nas nor buy his album.
Do you know a 25 year woman who even know Illmatic, Stillmatic, Life is Good ? No

And even if it's true. Why having Ye, DAYTONA, Kids See Ghost released within 3 weeks is not a problem for sales but become one for NASIR?

Last question: which album did you bought?

Nas’ “NASIR” Reaches #1 On US iTunes Sales Chart

5 Seconds Of Summer’s new “Youngblood” spent Friday atop the US iTunes sales chart.

Saturday morning, a different new release seized the throne.

Nas’ “NASIR,” that album, had taken over the #1 position by 10AM ET. It remains in that position as of press time at 11:15AM.

“Youngblood” is currently #2, while Christina Aguilera’s “Liberation” sits at #3. BLACKPINK’s “Square Up” EP and Mike Shinoda’s “Post Traumatic” follow at #4 and #5, respectively.

Kanye West executive produced the “NASIR” album; he also co-produced each track. Like his own recent “ye” and “Kids See Ghosts” releases, “NASIR” features seven tracks.

Yea guys... lets be REAL SCARED another legend dropped an album the same day as Nasir. :mjlol:

I know he ain’t on the itunes the POINT is that this was one big crying session thread acting like the mere EXISTENCE of a Jay album takes all the attention from Nas like Nas ain’t been around TWENTY FIVE YEARS and in those TWENTY FIVE YEARS hasn’t picked up a loyal fan or two.

Thats bullshyt.

Either we real fans and we believe in Nas’s ability to pull in sales based upon the quality of his output or we’re not. It takes MONTHS of planning to put a mainstream album out. You don’t just drop shyt so you can have some imagined W over another rapper. Nas and Jay battle is OVER. Nas done told us when we were all on Sohh PERSONALLY to let it go. Nas and Jay been supporting each other since 2005. Thats THIRTEEN YEARS of good vibes, collaborations, business dealings.

I understand what u sayin bro but hear me out. Nas been runnin around wit Ye. Jay got beef wit Ye. Kelis just recently had an interview where she tried to throw Nas under the bus and make like he still had animosity toward Jay. U dont really see them around each other like that anymore. And fam. They dropped the album on a Saturday fam. They couldve dropped it anytime and anywhere. It's been revealed that this album was dropping June 15th for a month. Too much of a coincidence imo fam. If I'm Nas I'm tight cause everything involved in this album release fukks wit his bottom line. From the screw ups at the GOOD Music camp that delayed his album to this whole Jay and Bey shyt.
