Thank God I'm not the only one tired of this sound because I felt like I was in that other thread.

Changing some words and trying flows is different than redoing verses though. You can hear the punches on these albums. It’s not as wild as say a Cormega album lol but it’s quite noticeable. It’s a faster way to record but I can’t imagine those other producers being cool with it.

I could see Alchemist letting it fly, given his work over the last decade. I can also imagine a younger producer like Metro working similarly. So if it’s not one of them (or someone similar) it’ll be Hit IMO.

If you had to bet do you think we get a new album (with any producer) before October 2024? I don’t think so personally. I can imagine a Lost Tapes tho.

I feel like Nas is more motivated now to put out music than he's been in a very long time. For years, he had to put up with label politics that compromised his plans for albums (Street's Disciple, Untitled, Lost Tapes II), personal issues (tax trouble, divorce), and after he was able to get it together for Life is Good, he expanded his business portfolio which led to no albums for six years (that's almost ten). Becoming an independent artist and working on King's Disease helped change Nas' mindset and allowed him to make music at the same pace as before, but now, he gets to release it all instead of having it sit in a vault.

Honestly, I don't see Nas going anywhere. I would sooner believe he's working on his next album than him being gone for over a year. I thought King's Disease was more than enough when it came out, then the sequel came out which I originally thought about as a joke. Then Magic came out four months later with no warning. From there, the floodgates were open for anything. When they announced Magic 3, I wasn't even surprised anymore because my mind's been trained to expect more music from Nas these days. What surprised me was that they weren't even planning on releasing it this quickly and hadn't even started working on it when Magic 2 came out. :damn:

This is a long post, but yeah, Nas still has more to say and it's clear he's making up for lost time in this run. I could definitely see a Lost Tapes III if he doesn't want to put out a new album next year.

Nas working with Hit for 6 albums and possibly more is a good thing. Because now when a different producer, new or old, works with him they know they have to bring their dopest work and effort. I would imagine Premo, Alchemist, etc want to show they can do better or just as good as Hit with producing for Nas in this current climate.

Wherever nikkas need to be told on
Please don't lol

I love Nas but these projects have just kinda been like hey...it's Nas, I gotta peep them. I've enjoyed them on that level but haven't really got much attachment to any of them.
As a long-term fan this is my favorite era of his. I can’t really count illmatic because I didn’t catch that in real-time. It was once If I Ruled The World dropped. These past three years have been so dope. I’ve enjoyed everything from the beatmaking to the rapping. Been so consistent.

The Nasir album was a blessing in disguise lowkey. Going from that to having fun with Hitboy, I think Nas learned alot from both processes.

Didn't Nas say he had to finish the album in a pulled over car, on the street?

WTF was Kanye doing?

If i were a betting man, i’d say if Nas is going to release another album within the year it WILL be the Premier album. Premier’s been around Nas and Hit for almost this entire run. Hanging out, listening to the music, giving advice, doing the Hip Hop 50 Vol. 1 joint for Mass Appeal. Like I said, Nas is extremely calculating, there’s no reason for him to say “Premier album still might happen” just for shyts & giggles. Nas doesn’t really tease projects like that in the first place. He’s NEVER said anything about doing an album with AZ. Or an album with Mobb Deep. Or an album with Large Professor. These were all fan curated, but Nas himself put fire to the flame with the Premo project.

So we’ll see. But one thing i’m CERTAIN of is Nas isn’t stopping any time soon. I don’t think they’ll be a long break (meaning a year plus) I don’t think Nas is going to go back into hermit mode. I think he’s set on checking off all boxes musically that he’s wanted or had an inclining of doing.
