I wasn't really fukkin with his music neither, the first time i listened to a track with him on was on Nas Life is good album & thought he was wack as fukk.

Few of those tracks posted above are pretty good though, im not gonna go out & buy his albums anything but im feeling a few of those tracks that have been mentioned in this thread

Just my opinion

At his very best, I think Nas is better than jay. Better MC, more inventive, more adventurous when it comes to concepts and beats.

In terms of consistency? Jay > Nas. And I don’t think it’s close. And the reason he’s good at making hits is because he has a great ear for music that can cross over. I feel like you’re making that a detriment (Nas has tried it; he’s just not as good at it), when he should be saluted for it.

Jay really doesn’t get enough credit for being that great, for that long. He might not pick a beat like you’re the man. But he definitely wouldn’t pick a beat like summer on smash or braveheart party either.
