Can't wait till James Webb is completed. We need more info about what's out there

1400 light years away. That means if you could speed away to here at the speed of light. (Which we cannot do now or may never be able to do ever ) it would take 1,400 years to get there.
So if we travel at half the speed of light we'd be there in 2,800 years approximately. Ain't going to happen.

But what if it has organic compoundsdoesn't mean it has life...it just shares a similar profile of a planet orbiting a star...

what if god was one of us?But what if it has organic compounds![]()

By space standards that's down the street.
The Andromeda Galaxy (the closest spiral galaxy to us) is about 2.2 million light years away.
So if we could travel at half the speed of light it would still take us over 4 million years to go there. Hell, even if we could travel twice the speed of light (which physics says is impossible) it'd still take over a million years. And that's a close galaxy.
The universe is a big ass place.![]()

What I don't understand is why are we using Radio signals in space. What are the odds that other civilizations even use this form of communication? How about lasers or some other form.
NASA actually does have a laser program.

NASA Tests New Laser Communication Relay
But as far as transmitting data to other intelligent life, radio signals make more sense than lasers, because lasers have a much, much smaller wavelength than radio waves and cover less area, whereas radio waves spread out over a larger area. So a laser would be ideal for two-way communication where you know exactly where you're sending it and can focus in on it, especially since you can pack more information into a laser. But radio waves are way better for covering a large area, which is what you want when you're just sending out signals hoping somebody picks it up. In terms of speed it doesn't make a difference as they both propagate at the speed of light.

link?this.
did you also hear about the signals/sounds we have heard from space...twice? no one knows what they are but apparently someone is doing the same thing. probably an even larger wave.
Im glad we are finding things but I think we should put all of our energy into travel now. I mean we now know how big shyt is, we have a general map, either we need to figure out how to bend the space fabric or get so optical we can actually view galaxies and planets up close visually, like a hubble on steroids.
