:snoop:Blackmen don't benefit from male privilege

Black female rape victims gonna disagree with you on that one breh. It exists. We live in a society that is run by men. This applies to the black community as well. Black history is dominated by black men, with far less focus on black female contributions. Sex wise we live in a society where "she should have known better" and "she shouldn't have done xyz" are still acceptable ways to blame a black woman for her own rape. We live in a society where a black woman expressing her sexuality makes her a slut, and being a virgin is considered desirable whereas none of these standards apply to black men.

I'm not gonna get into this fully because I realize most people here disagree. I'm a black man, I recognize as a MAN there are certain advantages I have. I'll just keep it at that and move on.

Many people refuse to even do that much and it's usually males who call themselves "men" who want to compete in oppression Olympics with Black women

I don't agree with some of it but at least he's honestly

Yea, I might be in the minority here, but I don't think that interview was that bad. He seemed pretty honest here. It'll help a bit with those on the fence about watching the movie since the rape case resurfaced.

That said, those that still have a major beef with Nate after this, that's on them. They weren't gonna change their mind or even contemplate changing their mind at this point :yeshrug:

hey hey hey
thats not the same:mjpls:
not to mention i didn't eeam agree to your definition of "toxic male culture"

I'm not asking you to agree to anything, I'm old enough to know that many people won't change the way they think about things they have accepted as truth.

Question. Why is black history dominated by men or why is history period dominated by the male gender? I feel like this is something that needs to be explained.

women call men virgins in a attempt to insult or belittle themselves as well

You can't possibly think this equates to hundreds if not thousands of years worth of history showing that female virginity has been used as an ideal and object to benefit men. "Haha you're a virgin" is not comparable to "you're not a virgin? You're a slut." Women's sexuality has always been policed by men, be they white men or black men or Arab men or anything else.

Hell look at how this forum views black women who dare sleep with white men, vs the more celebrated white girl/pawg chasing that goes on.

I agree with @Matt504 that the point here is not to stir an Olympics Of Oppression. But I would hope that as members of an aggrieved, oppressed minority we could show some solidarity and understanding towards those who are also aggrieved and oppressed. Yes black women are oppressed because they are BLACK, but they are also oppressed because they are women. I don't see how this is controversial. I just want people to recognize we all have challenges...let's work together to get shyt done.

What do people suggest that non violent, non raping sexually active males do to avoid doing anything that can be considered rape? I'm not talking about obvious shyt like not having sex with minors or forcefully taking p*ssy. But like, if your partying with a girl that you are attracted to, she's giving you signs that she is feeling you too( is this not a thing in human interaction in 2016?is this considered taboo?) and as the night goes on , you end up in a room together, she is conscious and there is sexual tension(or so you think because you haven't verbally asked her if she wants to fukk) , is this when a man should ask verbally if she would like to have sex, even though it is still possible that she can later say that she did not agree and give consent?

How about have her sign a consent form? Wait, that may be considered misogynystic, it also removes romance and natural chemistry from the situation so I'm not sure about that one. Any suggestions?

Just ask, it's not difficult at all and can potentially save yourself a lot of trouble.

"Are you sure you wanna do this?" takes 3 seconds.

Because we live in a patriarchal society in which males ensured only they could have leadership roles, only they could attain the highest levels of education or professional prominence, and only they right the rules of society. And women who did make contributions did so despite heavy opposition, plus faced historical revisionism to erase their contributions.

Think about the black rights movement and how women were often regulated to secretary type positions, were not given equal standing compared to black male leaders, etc. Think about how Rosalind Franklin basically discovered DNA as we know it, yet her male colleagues received the sole credit for decades. These are realities of being a woman in a male dominated society. Are things getting better in many ways? Sure. But we're not close to equality.

because if we look at this on paper, who is really more oppressed because of gender? we're far more likely to be unemployed, homeless, imprisoned, and killed (by cops or whoever)

so where does all this male privilege transfer over to the BM, when BW are telling you flat out they are in a better position? they earn more, they're higher educated, the courts/system are far more likely in their favor, they get loans just as easily as WM. i mean where is this gender oppression coming from?
