Both of those sports require too much skill training. Which means too much time has to be dedicated to both sports to play them at the highest levels, no matter how much of a freak you are. Plus the extensive schedules.

I don't think there's enough time in the day to master both sports like that, and even if you did, nobody wants to waste a roster spot on a part time player
