Can you believe some idiot in here claimed to have an MBA yet hasn't even taken an entry level economics course?
I swear, these nameless faceless trolls are so dumb. They really think they're smart by sh!tting on McDonald's workers as if they can't be replaced with a few phone calls.
I can believe it as many people bypass anything that has to do with mathematics.
The problem with people is that they view fast food workers, janitorial services, and most labor work as "beneath" them. The insecurity is hilarious to me and it's a bit weird to me how many of these companies just don't get it.
If McDonald's were to raise their floor pay to about $12 an hour...several things will happen.
1 - The amount of employee turnover will decrease significantly. This will save money on training employees, paying people overtime, and boost morale immediately. You might even be able to finally get people a stable work schedule instead of the bullshyt many fast food and low paying jobs do in where they stick you at whatever position is available and can change every 2 weeks or "split shifts"...you will
NEVER keep quality people under those conditions.
2 - The quality of workers you will have will increase. This doesn't necessarily mean smarter people working at the place, but the effort will go up dramatically. Your fries will not be as burnt, you will always get the ketchup packets asked, the amount of ice requested will likely be followed more attentively. The mangers will be better as a result as well...the problem in most McDonald's establishments is management...A person being responsible for so much deserves to get paid more. It is often shown that when people earn more money they will "willingly" take their job home with them. They will think of ways to improve work conditions, try to boost customer satisfaction and also submit ideas to corporate as to what is working and what is not working instead of just submitting numbers. This will be at no additional cost to you...the conference calls are not needed...most people don't pay attention during those phone conference calls anyway.
3 - The customer will be happier as the quality of service will go up, meaning more repeat customers and larger orders if things continue to go well
Most of this country doesn't know anything about economics or work conditions...no wonder we are in the situation we are in.
