Lol. Biggest bullshyt ever. You talk about economics yet you don't know what the fukk you're talking about. It simply boils down to the fact that these jobs like I said earlier are extremely easy to get. It simply doesn't make economic sense for McDonald's to pay them that high when the number of people willing to these jobs are plentiful and it's extremely low skilled.

Also the talk of happy employees and getting better service?:russ: It's not a fukking five star restaurant breh. You go there, order your food get served, eat and get the fukk out.
Most people working behind desks are not "extremely skilled" either. In fact, I am willing to bet a good number of McDonald's grunts can do the same job if given the opportunity.

It DOES make economic sense for McDonald's AND the whole damn country to pay low wage employees more. They just don't HAVE to because government programs are in place to "help" with those low ass wages. The GOVERNMENT is the bad one here allowing Walmart and these big ass establishments to get away with this shyt.

It appears like you don't realize the big impact these low ass wages are having on the country as a whole.

I'm not against these people earning good money. I'm seeing it from the eyes of McDonald's who after all are a business. Everything they do is geared towards maximising the most amount of money. We can talk about pure and simple economics or we can talk about social issues and humanitarianism. They're not the same.

They are not the same, but they are connected. I am all for trying to maximize profit, but they have an unfair advantage and try to push this idea that people in this country can earn $7.55 or whatever the minimum wage is and be considered acceptable.

The government is basically subsidizing these low wages and giving extra benefits to those who wants to cut through all the red tape. What does all the red tape mean for us? You got it...taxes. We end up paying for that shyt because all these big corporations are in a position to give big money to the government who can pocket it and shove the bill to us as a whole. There is already documentation on all of this shyt and its disgusting.

I can believe it as many people bypass anything that has to do with mathematics.

The problem with people is that they view fast food workers, janitorial services, and most labor work as "beneath" them. The insecurity is hilarious to me and it's a bit weird to me how many of these companies just don't get it.

If McDonald's were to raise their floor pay to about $12 an hour...several things will happen.

1 - The amount of employee turnover will decrease significantly. This will save money on training employees, paying people overtime, and boost morale immediately. You might even be able to finally get people a stable work schedule instead of the bullshyt many fast food and low paying jobs do in where they stick you at whatever position is available and can change every 2 weeks or "split shifts"...you will NEVER keep quality people under those conditions.

2 - The quality of workers you will have will increase. This doesn't necessarily mean smarter people working at the place, but the effort will go up dramatically. Your fries will not be as burnt, you will always get the ketchup packets asked, the amount of ice requested will likely be followed more attentively. The mangers will be better as a result as well...the problem in most McDonald's establishments is management...A person being responsible for so much deserves to get paid more. It is often shown that when people earn more money they will "willingly" take their job home with them. They will think of ways to improve work conditions, try to boost customer satisfaction and also submit ideas to corporate as to what is working and what is not working instead of just submitting numbers. This will be at no additional cost to you...the conference calls are not needed...most people don't pay attention during those phone conference calls anyway.

3 - The customer will be happier as the quality of service will go up, meaning more repeat customers and larger orders if things continue to go well

Most of this country doesn't know anything about economics or work conditions...no wonder we are in the situation we are in.
:lawd: If them niccas even SMELL $12/hr, I want a fukking SMILE ehhtime I walk in that bytch. :shaq2:

We've had this convo a million times. Nothing has changed, you earn what you can earn based on how you can market yourself. And if you can only market yourself as a lettuce chopper then :yeshrug:

I don't understand the whole consumer inflation thing. The people who shop at Walmart and McDonald's are not smart enough to pay attention to purchasing power. All they know is give me more money and I'll buy more things. With higher wages business should go up. A Big Mac meal was like $5 four years ago , today it's like $8 and the minimum wage has not change since than and business has gone up. I don't understand how giving your market more money and providing you more labor can be a bad thing. McDonald's has a strong hold on its consumer that will never go away, they need to start paying their employees because in the grand scheme of thing it not worth it.

Fistful of jewels
I know all of us make over 100k on here :troll:

But none of these jobs don't pay shyt these days, employers get away with it knowing we can't quit and find a job the next day like we use to be able to.

I've put in maybe 500 resumes in the past 3 months, even with all the experience I have (military, trade aka welding, management) all the offers I got were in the $9-12 an hr range. :mjlol: I worked for 10 an hr back in 2003, then I got a job paying me $15, and was making $24 in a union machine shop.

Employers get away with this entrapment and mental slavery, people are just stuck. I know people getting disability making more then most people who work, the system is set up for this. Companies are making record profits, by paying less and less for qualified people.

Lastly, if these fast food joints did indeed get the $15 an hr how many people would quit and work for buger king, popeyes.

I think it's $7.50...but some states have higher than others. I think it's $10 in Cali.

But also its economics...your 6lb is still just worth 6lbs out there. So you shouldn't really feel much better. Not like you have a choice to buy things at american prices there.
