You have interesting stories of your time served, what is the downside of old heads enlisting?
you can already see the pride thing hopping up in the thread - some guys just can't get over the fact that they're pushing the high side of 30 and not having anything to say because they have *zero* experience or time served so their opinions mean little outside of housekeeping.
they also have a hard time dealing with "everybody is getting punished because one of yal was stupid" stuff that comes with the first few years enlistment
also older guys have a much shorter rope to be idiots with because everyone expects them to have a degree more common sense than most. there's *nothing* worse than being old, dumb, and not being able to follow simple instructions in the military. and although the physical requirements are waaay lower.... if you're a sloppy fat gremlin, you'll hear about it every single hour of every day.
so basically if you got your shyt together mentally, want to actually improve yourself/your situation, and aren't clinging to your ego like a jackass while making a desperate last shot to get your life back on track, its not even that big of a deal
