Sad truth is if you don’t want racism in the military, then you got to join your own ethnicity’s military.


I know the whole culture around callsigns is halfway playful, but that’s a little extra.

Any military where you’re not the majority ethnicity is going to be ugly.

This is the same story for the last 4,000 years or however long militaries and war have existed. Don’t expect 2020’s, 4020’s or 10020’s (if we’re still around by then) to be any different.

Armed Forces are based on rules and discipline. The rules and penalties have to be enforced.

You can't prevent people from being their natural devil selves, but have to uphold the rules and punish them for it. The man they were directly insulting is on their "side". Not checking that shyt upsets the morale of the unit.

This honestly doesn’t matter to them on the most reptilian level. They’ll always view him as an outsider when it comes time to make a choice.

I’ll also say the morale of the unit was pretty high if they kept dunking on him. If anything they expect you to get on their time and their culture if you join their military.

I’m sure you do, but that’s probably why most people aren’t a “cultural fit”.

They probably ran dude through a bunch of racism during the filtering process and seemed fine to them. After a while breaking points were met most likely.

I know the ideals and such, especially for elite units and their reputation will b me along the lines of “There’s no room for racism” but in the real world and how it actually plays out there’s a difference between what they say and want people to believe vs what they actually do.

We agree on the central point. My point is, and history has documented that when America has her back against the wall, opening up opportunities for Black people has been what has helped them turn the tide and win wars.
Whether it was the USCT in the Civil War or the Black soldiers, sailors, and (Tuskegee)Airmen in WW2. Perhaps that's why there are forces trying to erase that.

I definitely agree with your point about "stated ideals" versus real world climate in the military. The shyt is just counter productive and they need to remind these hillbillies that with strong enforcement of penalties.

Yeah definitely.

However, people need to understand they don’t need anybody to win a war. They’ll find plenty of bodies to do it willingly or unwillingly. 100 million or so youngsters to choose from. If they lose, they’ll go down sacrificing everybody first.

I think some people really need to understand it’s still their military at the end of the day. In the same way you can’t go into another country and complain about the way they do things there. It’s like a company: you work for the CEO and not the other way around. The CEO may lose employees but they’ll just pull from the next round of college graduates.
