The Sixers had a playmaker in Simmons, they needed a scorer. If you have a big playmaker like LeBron, Giannis or Simmons you have to get a PG that can get buckets to go with them.

Tatum has balled the fukk out all summer league and the Celtics got another likely top 5 pick on top of that. Dudes are so reactionary on here. Even if you think Ball is better than Tatum, is he better than the possibility of Tatum/Porter? Tatum/Bamba? Tatum/Doncic? Tatum/Bagley (who might reclass)? Stop.

I wanted Fultz but y'all are really overlooking the other pick they got in that trade too. It likely falls in the top 5 of a draft that could feature Bagley, Doncic, Porter, Bamba, and Ayton at the top. Fultz and Ball can both be better than Tatum (which is no guarantee), and the Celtics still likely make out like bandits if they can get their hands on one of those guys.
