I only liked single player in 2k, not a fan of playing online. I only played the game normally when I was at a friends house or vice versa. And by whenever My Player came out, francchise mode had gotten real stale, I cant remember the last time i finished a season of that. So 'my player' was a cool experience. It was something different, the RPG style upgrading is cool, the meter in game for the coaches satisfaction of your play was really cool. You got to ask for trades etc. And originally it was just playing games and talking to the gm occasionally. I liked it
Once microtransactions got introduced all of a sudden the mode turned to trash. They added practice and training and blah blah to make you hate your life and give them money. And from what I've seen on this new game, if you dont give them money, you have to literally dedicate your whole life to 2k so your character isnt trash... its sad.
You gotta imagine, lot of us have been playing 2k since dreamcast. They havent added any good modes. If you werent bored of the same old by 2014 after playing since 2002...then I dunno. My player was probably the only cool thing they added and they killed it after 2 games. Last 3 years were brutal.
