Hello everyone welcome to another year of NBA 2K! This go round of the project has been a little tough a few people had personal situations going on including
CelticLG, in which again get well soon dawg. This year we opted to go with two variations of the roster. The ATD Opening Night 1.0 (SGN Edition) which is a roster done with badges added from Sim Gaming Network and The ATD Opening Night 1.0 (MIAFinest97 Edition) which is a roster overhaul done by MIAFinest97.
The reason why it's 1.0 is because the roster is not completely finished. The player sigs are not fully complete (Only the 76ers to the Nets are finished) and we are looking from between the end of November to early December to finish the remaining teams.

Gameplay Overhaul Update – Major Tuning Pass for Realistic Flow & Balance
Hey everyone, just finished up a major round of edits to fine-tune gameplay balance, movement, and overall realism. This update is aimed at creating smoother offensive flow, smarter shot distribution, and more believable defensive behavior across the board.
Here’s what’s new:
Badges & Attributes Overhaul
- Completely rebalanced badge effects to better reflect player skill and role.
- Adjusted key attributes for more realistic player separation and on-court identity.
- Rebuilt speed and stamina curves so quick guards actually feel explosive, while bigs maintain realistic mobility without feeling sluggish.
Speed & Movement
- Speed and Speed With Ball increased for more natural pacing and transition flow.
- Players accelerate and decelerate more realistically — less robotic stop/start movement.
- Game tempo feels livelier without crossing into arcade territory.
Defense Rework
- Defensive attributes recalibrated to remove “glue” defense — no more Trae Young clamping elite scorers unrealistically.
- On-ball defense now depends more on footwork, positioning, and awareness.
- Defensive awareness and consistency adjusted for more human-like reaction timing.
- Still requires skill to beat defenders — you can’t just blow by everyone, but it feels balanced.
Tendency Overhaul
- Major rebuild of offensive and defensive tendencies for smarter, more dynamic AI decisions:
- Spot vs. Cut: Players move off-ball in ways that fit their offensive role and spacing logic.
- Crash (Rebounding): Tuned to balance aggression and rebounding positioning — fewer reckless over-the-back scenarios.
- Drive & Dish Logic: Drive and kick actions improved by syncing Driving Layup Tendency with passing and shot tendencies, creating more realistic attack-and-pass flow.
- Mid-Range Logic Rework (Bigs): Big men now use smarter mid-range shot selection, picking their spots instead of forcing low-IQ looks.
- Three-Point Logic Balance: Complete rebuild for more consistent spacing and realistic shooting volume across archetypes.
- Contest Behavior: Improved defensive closeouts for better timing and body control.
Shot Selection & Flow
- Players now use a wider range of shots depending on role, matchup, and floor spacing.
- Mid-range and close shot logic tuned for smarter shot choice, particularly among bigs and secondary scorers.
- Driving and pull-up windows adjusted for smoother momentum-based decision making.
Overall Goal
This overhaul focuses on blending realistic simulation with fluid, player-driven gameplay — rewarding smart decisions while reducing scripted, unnatural interactions.
Expect more dynamic possessions, realistic fouls, balanced rebounding, and AI behavior that mirrors real basketball flow.
Disclaimer
This project is in no way a jump-off or replacement for the official ATD roster or the incredible work put into it.
I’m a proud member of the ATD Team and fully support players trying out both versions to see what fits their personal playstyle best.
This version simply represents a different perspective and tuning philosophy aimed at sparking variety and discussion within the community.
Before I continue, send thoughts and prayers to
CelticLG who isn't good health wise, sending love and thoughts breh.
Special shout out to the people that took time out to pitch in with this project...
