1) how strong are each of these teams on paper given the movements made?

2) by proposed rules, Bron and KD would be captains....how they picking?
More than likely they will set it up so that the captain's first pick will be the opposite conference, the next pick his home conference.

If you/we changed this to reflect all the moves in the West it would be easier to predict how the teams would end up

It would be different this year and ur still missing the point. If you go back and re-do previous playoffs it still wouldnt be accurate because the schedules are not balanced in those previous seasons....Youd need a balanced schedule across the board, all those previous years West only played the East twice so you wouldnt get accurate seedings for that year if it were to be 1/16...

No you are trying to make point that is not supported by what actually occurred. Even with unbalanced schedules, when you had a deeper clearly superior west, the records bore that out. You are playing NBA comp every night, if the gap is as big as you suggest then all these teams don't even need to be in the same league. When you are picking 16 teams out of 30, ie more than half the league gets in, is accuracy and fairness really a concern? No team that is close to deserving can ever get left out in this set up. In the current set up we've had teams win damn near 50 games and miss the playoffs while sub .500 teams made it in the other conference. This is fair and accurate? :usure: Even if you play in the same conference you aren't gonna play a balanced schedule. Some teams get 2 homes games against the Warriors and only one road game, others gotta do the reverse or play 2 and 2. The west has it share of shytty teams to feast on too.

The NBA is never going to a 1/16 set up even if they could balance a schedule for 32 teams, they lose money on it and theyre still competitive inbalance cuz the teams out west will do 3 times as much traveling to fulfill an equal schedule.

Its just never going to happen.

You didn't answer my questions. You put these points out there. I rebutted them and now you wanna run to "well it's never gonna happen". That may or may not be true, but that doesn't mean it makes sense or that there isn't very clear and undeniable argument for making a change.

This is just gonna be slaughter. You're gonna have Bron and KD as captains. Bron has already built 2 championship teams. KD needs his team already picked, primed and battle tested. :yeshrug:

:lolbron: Now if they can just get rid of the conferences all together and just have a single bracket for the playoffs.

Bruh if they're willing to concede on the all star game why wont they just do top 16 teams make the playoffs. They're admitting the east is trash by doing this. no way the same teams make it to the finals every year if there's a best 16 team format. It would put importance on every playoff game not just the western conference games.
