NBA Exec shyts on Ben Simmons: “He’s the same player today as he was in his rookie year.”

To be fair, defense aside can you honestly say he has developed his offensive game in a positive way the past 3 years?
Personally I want him to take one game and just launch 20 3’s regardless of game situation or plan just so everyone can stop asking him to shoot. He definitely needs to work on it, but Simmons not averaging 30 a night instead of 16 is not why the Sixers don’t win. For the amount of money Harris gets, he should be making enough 3’s for the 2 of them.

If Ben was this elite shooter who couldn’t stop shyt, he’d get way more love but would be more of a contributor to their shortcomings. Ben + decent jumper = as good as Kawhi, LeBron and Giannis, but because his jumper ain’t there (his FT% hurts his team more than his lack of 3’s) he’s a liability to too many people. It’s crazy. They should trade him for that snitch who used to play for the Lakers and see if they do better.

Philadelphia tanked so fukking hard just to be a fringe contender for like two seasons. If they eventually move simmons that's like two number one picks they fizzled out that's horrible.

Even if they traded Simmons, he personally took them to the playoffs in 2017 after Embiid went down, ending a six year playoff drought. It wouldn't be a bust.

However the Sixers not being able to develop Jah, Kelle, Nerlens, etc is definitely worth criticism in my opinion.

Offensively he's been a 16-8-8 guy

Rookie yr 15.8 pts 8.1 reb 8.2 ast 55% FG 56% FT
2nd yr 16.9 pts 8.9 reb 7.7 ast 56% FG 60% FT
3rd yr 16.4 pts 7.8 reb 8.0 ast 58% FG 62.1 FT

Those are just numbers, kinda shyt numbers for a number one pick and mean nothing when he has very little impact on the game, especially in the playoffs.

Is that how y’all define a player? Just looking at his numbers and not what he actually does on the floor to help his team win? :mindblown:

How do you define "impact on the floor" in such a way that Simmons "has very little"?

I will say this isn't true because he's a far superior defender than he was. But defense is the easiest thing to improve on if you have athletic tools. If you put any effort in, you should improve markedly from your rookie year.

He hasn't improved in a they else tho:yeshrug:. They definitely should've traded him imo

Philly was ready to deal him WITH shooters, defenders and picks for a fat fukk who never comes through in the postseason

Philly hired a guy in Morey who NEVER comes through and delivers a team who wins in the postseason. Blaming Ben at this point is saying y’all would rather lose 150-145 than lose 115-110.

By being able to impose his offensive will with his athleticism (like Embiid is able to with his size and athletic ability) and somewhat like Giannis did before he got a decent jumper.

There’s no reason that at 6’10/245 pounds with his handle and quickness that he’s not getting to the rack with ease for 20 points a night. He plays wayyy smaller than he is for a nikka that big, fast and strong. The shooting is embarrassing in itself from outside or at the line but there’s no reason why he shouldn’t be averaging at least 20 ppg at this point in his career. That’s the expectation of a number one overall pick with the hype he had coming up.

The 8-9 assist mean nothing when your team needs a bucket and Embiid is being doubled and tripled and you can’t hit an open jumper or drive to the rack. This has happened time after time in the playoffs

He’s a good defender but not an all timer. Not good enough to make up for his offensive deficiencies.

Now do you want to tell me the impact he has on the floor in your eyes at this point in his career?

Morey dropped the ball on the Harden trade. Had he not fukked around pre-season, they could be in the running but now they won't be able to give him away.:yeshrug:

For Ben, is it that he "can't shoot" or won't shoot :jbhmm: We've seen a million and one players improve their 3 point shooting in no time. Ben's problem isn't that he can't shoot, breh refuses to make it apart of his game. Philly should've never gave him the contract. shyt i wanted them to trade ben and keep Jimmy when they had the chance
