16 of 30 teams making a "playoffs" from a 82 game season is the dumbest concept in sports.

Why is that a dumb concept?

The playoffs are long but why are y'all in a rush for the playoffs to be over so quickly? Like you said, the season is 82 games (6 months). 2 months to get 14 wins in the grind of the playoffs is fine to me

So they are getting rid of the set Tues, Thurs, Sunday rotation then? They have to be. If the series starts on Sunday you got:

Game 1 and 2 in city with HCA on Sunday and Tuesday
Game 3 and 4 on Friday and Sunday
Game 5 on Wednesday
Game 6 on Saturday
Game 7 on Tuesday

If they are gonna get rid of set days then they can get rid of the set start date too.

I always assumed it was due to the network change. Regardless I am all for it and I appreciate how open to change Silver is. I take it all back if this fool is doing this AND keeping the set start date though.

You know you are right. I believe it started when they went to ABC. They were not willing to work around their schedule like NBC.

I still say (even though the owners made billions) that the move to ABC hurt the overall growth of the NBA. I believe the league would have done much better staying on NBC.
