Duncan can say he was the best player for 3 of his 4. Kobe can say 2 of 5.PF is the weakest position in the NBA. Kobe has more titles than Duncan and more individual accolades. Duncan hasn't been first option since 2006. Compare this 2nd option to other 2nd options.
Duncan has more MVP's and Finals MVP's when he's played in less finals.

I think top 3-4 all time is a reach (can be backed up) but top 3-4 big men isn't.

That argument is silly. Duncan might be the GOAT PF, but if he played center no one would call him the GOAT anything. He wouldn't even be top 4.
