Above the fray.
Coli tradition every year is to make wild hot takes based on the first few games of the season that invariably turn out wrong. Wanted one thread where we can throw out all the wild hot takes you've already seen.
Can you find and bump the thread from last year?
One of the luxuries that pro sports commentators and reporters have is that nobody remembers the things they were dead wrong about. It was true in my era, and in modern ADD social media era it's even more true.

Let's not let Coli members skate, too.

Not too much was posted there tho and it was mostly other people's takes. Worst one was the usual suspect:
the Lakers are not winning a title and Lestans and the media will place all the blame at the feet of AD. Lebron will start doing all his passive aggressive shyt in the media and we'll begin hearing rumblings of locker room issues. Lebron isnt good enough anymore to make a nikka want to play with him and deal with his bullshyt.

AD come on home where you'll be appreciated.

This one was actually decent:
I think Markelle Fultz will win Most Improved Player this season.

I knew you couldn't have believed all that bullshyt from that other post :wow:
Yeah, I don't slander Steph or Dame or Giannis and I'm not high on LaMelo. No way Denver should trade for Harden.

All the other shyt I posted was posts I read, but this one is my own hot take:

Deni Avdija is already a better NBA player than LaMelo Ball and will remain that way.

This gotta be one of them ghost pepper type takes cause I haven’t seen the kid do a damn thing so far. But then again...I ain’t seen shyt from lamelo either:patrice:

He's 6'9" but can dribble and distribute, just 19 but he's been playing in tougher leagues than LaMelo for three years. He's not a great shooter but his shot form is pretty much the opposite of LaMelo's which is a great place to start. Scouts say he has a high bball IQ. To me he looks like the next Detlef Shrempf.

Ben Simmons has added nothing to his game, he's not an All Star or All Defense candidate and a team can't go deep into the playoffs with him as their #2

Lamelo's game will open up when he starts landing his floater.

Zo will shoot 40% from midrange, 36% from 3 and shoot in the 70's for his ft's. His assist might go down slightly with Bledsoe and Ingram playmaking more. He will look kind of Kevin Martin-lite but with all nba defense and much better passing. All nba defensive and MIP awards are in reach.
