Why you left out Ant and Brunson
Fair enough. Right now they are a tier below the four guys I named, but they'll put themselves in the conversation with a Finals trip. The guys I named have all either won an MVP or taken their team to a Finals. Everybody else is a level below...

So while I'm at it, Haliburton's stature rises if he gets his team to a Finals...

Just a reminder that some media members were leaving Kobe off their ballot all together at a time when he was clearly the best player in the league. Shows you how credible it is. shyt is purely political and holds no weight in my eyes.

Ant been to two conference Finals when Embid hasn't made it out of the 2nd round. Shouldn't that balance out his MVP?

This is always a strange talking point. The only years that Kobe was punished in the ballots was 2005; every other year from 2002 thru 2013, Kobe Bryant was a Top 5 finish...

He's tied for the third-most Top 5 finishes ever. The narrative that Kobe was some hated player is always unrealistic. Did some people not like him, sure; everybody doesn't like every single player...

But you don't finish with the third-most Top 5 finishes ever if the "media" hates you. Kobe is one of the most beloved players ever...

You know what, that's a fair point!

For sure though I won't front. Embid at his peak was dominant when he wanted to be. Hopefully he can get right but it's looking like the end.

They’re a tier below SGA, Luka, Tatum historically speaking. Ant is young enough to make up the ground but I doubt he will (just not as good as the others). Brunson, while impressive, isn’t going to reach that level.
