Draymond is right. How can you punish teams that draft well? Isn't the point to draft well, re-sign your homegrown players and grow from there?
The 8 players that the Warriors drafted and still have on their roster account for 138 million in salary …that core of players wouldn’t even have this team in the luxury tax this year …it’s when you add Wiggins and his 33 million dollar salary which was the byproduct of the Durant signing years ago do you have a team pushing well over and outside of the luxury tax parameters…so this narrative just isn’t all that true actually…the Warriors cap issues are from the outside players not the ones they drafted

But that's before Poole's extension kicks in.

His salary is jumping $20M+ per year.

Still going over the tax even without Weedplate.

It really seems like the league pulled an NFL in dangling a bunch of money in the player's faces and called their bluff in turning it down even if it arguably works against them in the long run.

That’s true but if we’re talking next year the ultra punitive tax penalties kick in at 15 million over the tax If you took out Wiggins contract plus donte and gp2 which are guys they didn’t draft they wouldn’t be getting impacted by these new rules …it would definitely impact the quality of their depth because they’d have to replace this guys with minimum contracts …but the reason the taxation is running into overflow mode currently is largely those additional non drafted guys
