It prevents teams from getting players that could potentially get them over the hump if they are capped out. They are being given a ceiling
Every team has always had to deal with that …I wish my Bulls could just sign the best free agent every year but we can’t …The NBA isn’t the MLB there is a salary cap and there has always been one there have always been mechanisms to control spending this is nothing new …however teams with drafted talented are not being forced to get rid of their drafted players because of this so no I don’t see how this uniquely impacts a team like Memphis as the poster was alluding to

All leagues will have to have hard discussions about season length. If the season ended a month ago I’d be good with it
they really don't though. You don't have to watch every game. The ones who want the seasons cut down feel like they have other shyt they wanna do with their time but don't wanna miss parts of the season either. It's very selfish.

the ether
$500k is still a good incentive for most players. The average player makes like $8 million. It’s roughly the equivalent of someone on a $70k salary getting a $4400 bonus

And these are players who get heated on team planes gambled a few hundred dollars. Who keep their mouths shut about the refs 90% of the time cause they're afraid of losing $10,000. Coaches in several cases have instituted $5,000 fines for behaviors like showing up to practice late.

Anyone claiming that $500,000 is irrelevant to them is crazy. Most of the players are going to care.

It’s also going to be in November. It’s a going to be great way to build momentum for the season.
The season's just getting going. If you're a hoops fan who goes from late June (and if your team is ass, April) to October without basketball and it comes on and you can't get excited for it, that's telling.

The NBA situation regarding the regular season isn't just an NBA problem. Americans for whatever reason just don't like regular seasons anymore. We just want the postseason, even if 2/3rds of the league is in it. Everyone wants shorter games, shorter seasons as if the league is inconveniencing you. Americans have reached a point where it's almost more preferred to cook up hot takes for games instead of letting shyt play out.

They work in CBB because you’ve got a history of conference rivalries and the winner gets an automatic bid in the tourney.
Well the NBA iS the only sport with out rivalries. That’s why the regular season sucks

Told yall dumbasses it wouldn't be a lock out

Next up new TV deal

After that 2 new franchises

Players and the owner's won. Good business
There were no radical changes to to inspire one. I'm very surprised the league/owners side didn't try to add something regarding games played and salary.

Women college basketball is getting more views than NBA regular season games

There was thread on here about how there hasn’t been 1 game people have anticipated this year

Outside of NbA Stans. The nba regular season is a dead product. The players don’t even care

Isn't regular season supposed to be for stans and playoffs for casuals?
