You know there will be plenty of players who will vote on a personal level, so I'll probably respect the media vote more.

i definitely think a player vote holds more weight than a media vote, but even they are still human are subject to their own biases.

like let's say this was put into effect back in the day. would jordan still have won all those MVP's or would his competition have chin checked him and voted against him off GP. do these guys really wanna see the same guy win year after year?

you may run into some of the problems.

Im in favor of this, the media is full of bias clowns and some of which dont watch as many games of some of the brehs here do
You could say the same in player voting. You know a lot of players are going to vote for their friends or team mates

Wouldn't it be tight if they had a panel of old timers to vote on Awards, mainly the NBA 50 greatest. Bill Russell,George Gervin,Dr.J etc

It's all much the same in the end. Except with the media, they'll put more focus on statistical analysis, time on reviewing games, game/historical situations, discussion and more thought on who deserves to win, just in general. Players don't have the time to be doing that shyt, and the ones that do go out of their way to make time to watch games are so few and far between that even with the innate biased-nature that the media creates with its narratives, it'll still end up being closer to the truth.

i disagree....yea, players might not have the time to watch as many games as the media, but i think you're underestimating them paying attention to whose doing what in the league....they know, they talk....and yes, it will be biased somehow just like the media, but i'd still take the vote of the players over the media...

the way yall talk is yall dont want the media nor the players voting for awards, so who do yall want to do that then, fans?....yea, that would be so unbiased lol....

While that may be true, NBA players are watching less games than the 'bias media clowns' are. I don't trust players to value each other's worth.

:snoop:

they play against each other a minimum of 2x each season. they spend countless hours in film study and get advanced scouting reports on each player. many of these guys have also been playing against each other from the time they were kids in AAU so they know each other inside out.

they know alot more about each other than you do watching on your TV.
