Of course, I'm not saying they're robots.i disagree....yea, players might not have the time to watch as many games as the media, but i think you're underestimating them paying attention to whose doing what in the league....they know, they talk....and yes, it will be biased somehow just like the media, but i'd still take the vote of the players over the media...
To be honest, I don't really care for these awards. They don't mean a cotdamn thing. No matter who votes on the awards there's always going be some level of bias. The media will always be closer to the truth though.the way yall talk is yall dont want the media nor the players voting for awards, so who do yall want to do that then, fans?....yea, that would be so unbiased lol....
Explain to me why it's an idiotic statement? This is an idiotic statement
Yet they play 82 games in a season.......
they play against each other a minimum of 2x each season.
they spend countless hours in film study and get advanced scouting reports on each player.

many of these guys have also been playing against each other from the time they were kids in AAU so they know each other inside out..

Personally would they? Absolutely. I don't think anybody would dispute that. But the fact of the matter is, most of these players don't know and don't give a fukk about what's going around all with the 29 other teams in the league. They've got their own lives to live. They're not sitting down in putting as much stock into how players are playing week-in week-out like the media and fans do.they know alot more about each other than you do watching on your TV.
So you're more qualified to judge a player's WHOLE season by playing one to two games against them, than a person who watches 80+% of these games across an entire season?I think you tell alot more about a player by playing against them on the court than by looking at a stat sheet or watching from TV.

Wouldn't it be tight if they had a panel of old timers to vote on Awards, mainly the NBA 50 greatest. Bill Russell,George Gervin,Dr.J etc

Interesting nonetheless
That would be the worse option out of all.

They'd have to have the anonymous player on Twitter tweeting about every selection like with the NFL Top 100. Imagine the amount of fukkery that could ensueIt'd be dope if there was a Top 50 players or something every year on NBATV voted by the players
NFL does it

Troll bettaThe media declared Rose was the MVP half way through the season and the players rode with it.
